Who says swingball is for kids?!I had the original version in my 1970's childhood and really enjoyed using it - it even encouraged me to join a local tennis club. Now, in our 50's we're enjoying using it again in our garden. Without wishing to sound too much like geriatrics, we're past wanting to run around chasing a ball but this is great. It gives us some exercise, helps build muscle tone and improves our eye-hand co-ordination and we can chat while playing. Our visitors have also entered into the spirit of it too and, keeping it permanently set up in our garden during dry weather, anyone visiting tends to pick up one of the bats suspended on the post and plays either alone or as a pair. It's a great set-up with the plastic base. I suspect in time that the top of the sand/water tray base will crack in UV light but replacements are available and this is so much better than knocking a support into the ground and then risking skimming it with the lawn mower- assuming it doesn't become overgrown with grass which has happened in the past.Highly recommended for children or all ages, including 'children' aged 50+

Delighted with this purchase.
Excellent value. Used at a family party, intended to amuse younger guests but the older ones took over! It was almost constantly used over two days and provided entertainment and laughter - so much so that it will be joining us in the garden in France on an upcoming family holiday. The reason I have not given top marks for durability is that it has only been used for two days as yet but it does seem very sturdy.

Easy to gift, easy, to erect, easy to enjoy!
Our nine year old granddaughter took over when I fell faint at the sight of it all in bits inside the plastic base. The instructions looked complex to me but she had it up and running in minutes. We actually clamped the base to the ground with pegs and elastic as we hadn't got any grit or sand to hand to weigh it down. All afternoon it was used as a birthday party game before being packed up again and taken home by the six year old recipient.A triumph of good design, this is straightforward to buy, carry home, open and use. Swing ball is an outdoor activity toy that has been perennially popular in our family, only needing replacing every few years. I am glad we chose this one which was also keenly priced compared to supermarkets having it on sale. We all have a go and it is good for fitness, exercise and getting one's eye in as it were.

Rubbish! Save your money!
Absolutely rubbish quality. Pole didn’t fit in properly or stay in the support hole as was not deep enough. Tried both sand and water to hold it down, but didn’t work. Also way a different style to one advertised. Lid would not fit on because base plastic was warped. It was to replace an 4 year old one what’s out in all weathers as the ball eventually came off the rope. So I’ve just ended up putting the new ball on my old pole and base. Was too late to return as bought early for gift too, so ended up paying over £30 for ball on a string 🙄

Survived a year so far ...
Owned for nearly a year now. Goes in and out of shed, get attacked by babies and thwacked by teen. Survived it all well. Have put bricks in base so is moveable. The pole does wobble a bit but noting that stops the game. The swirly bit on top is pointless because as soon as you are practiced it never gets a chance to move up or down- you tend to be equal so string stays where it was. It would be better with out the swirly bit.
