The Usborne Outdoor Book: 1 (Nature Books)

Cute book and lovely read. Hard cover and thin comfortable pages which have a recycling feel. Full of ideas how to play in different outdoor environments. Gives great tips on how to entertain oneself outdoors. Probably suitable for kids from 5-6 to 10-11. Also very educational, full of interesting facts. Book is very presentable and would be a great gift.

If you enjoy the outdoors and wish you could help your children appreciate it more this book is for you. This book takes you to the beach, forest, stream, park, gazing to the sky and camping. Everything is covered in the Outdoor Book as there are games to keep them occupied, challenges to set, as well as things to learn about their natural surroundings explained simply. This book has it all. This reminds me of things I did when I was younger and some I wish I had but I’ll be doing them now through my kids. Ideal for ages 8-12 but younger children with some guidance would enjoy it too.

Another fab book for christmas

Very practical, child friendly activities that encourage children to explore nature. Great graphics. I, as an adult, read it first before passing it on to my friend's grandson.

This is a wonderful book for any child with an interest in nature, weather or the outdoors. We have returned to it time and time again - borrowing it multiple times from our local library before buying our own copy. A treasure

Bought for young nieces in New Zealand, who have taken it camping, and on the beach. It offers lots of ideas for outdoor activities, things and animals, insects, and flora to look for. It has some safety pointers, as well as games to play. They like the book very much. Needs some parental support to do the activities, as it’s a doing book.

A lovely book but not as filled with activities as I had hoped.

Questo libro mi lascia perplessa. È interamente illustrato, con illustrazioni che hanno l’idea di descrivere vari ambienti naturali. Però sono poco dettagliate e quindi come illustrazioni naturalistiche hanno parecchi limiti. D’altra parte non hanno uno stile così bello da coinvolgere più emotivamente. Sono le classiche illustrazioni né carne, né pesce. Nessuna delle attività proposte è particolarmente creativa o approfondita. Non ci sono schede da stampare, giochi da fare o progetti da costruire con elementi naturali trovati nelle escursioni... È una piccola guida molto iniziale per giovanissimi escursionisti, con un apprezzabile focus sulla sicurezza. Analizza mare, lago, colline... non ho visto la montagna, forse perché in UK non ne hanno. Questa mi sembra una grossa pecca. Buona la stampa e la rilegatura. Non so se renderlo... non è ricco né utile quanto mi aspettavo.

Loved the book and its content! Perfect for my 4.5 year old, little explorer. Helps build curiosity and observation skills for kids, especially who love outdoors, camping or trail walks.
