The Usborne Outdoor Book: 1 Spiral-bound – 1 Jun. 2016

I bought this book to encourage my nearly 7 year old to discover more outside. The book covers a variety of subjects / activities such as making a map, camp fire cooking, being a tree detective, birdwatching, seashore activities, woodland obstacles courses. I look forward to reading it with him to discover what we can do and learn in the great outdoors.

Cute book and lovely read.Hard cover and thin comfortable pages which have a recycling feel.Full of ideas how to play in different outdoor environments. Gives great tips on how to entertain oneself outdoors.Probably suitable for kids from 5-6 to 10-11.Also very educational, full of interesting facts.Book is very presentable and would be a great gift.

Bought for young nieces in New Zealand, who have taken it camping, and on the beach. It offers lots of ideas for outdoor activities, things and animals, insects, and flora to look for. It has some safety pointers, as well as games to play. They like the book very much. Needs some parental support to do the activities, as it’s a doing book.

Really nice simple but engaging book, helpful also to imbed knowledge of country codes and basic safety in the types of terrain we have in the UK.

If you enjoy the outdoors and wish you could help your children appreciate it more this book is for you.This book takes you to the beach, forest, stream, park, gazing to the sky and camping.Everything is covered in the Outdoor Book as there are games to keep them occupied, challenges to set, as well as things to learn about their natural surroundings explained simply. This book has it all.This reminds me of things I did when I was younger and some I wish I had but I’ll be doing them now through my kids.Ideal for ages 8-12 but younger children with some guidance would enjoy it too.

“Wow! Look at this book Dad”.It’s full of all the things young and old enjoy when outdoors and has lovely illustrations too.
