Cost Effective BP measurement
This instrument is good value, easy to use and seems to give consistent results. I was able to take a measurement the first time I used it. The valve was easy to adjust to get the correct rate of fall of pressure, no knack required. I found that the large cuff was needed for my arm. This surprised me as although I am overweight, I am not the largest patient one would commonly encounter. I have yet to try it on a really large person. I have not checked the calibration yet. I have compared it with readings obtained from two good quality electronic BP meters. The readings on this sphyg were a couple of points higher than the average result of the electronic units over twelve consecutive readings. The sphyg was more consistent than the electronic. Not very scientific I know, but best test I can do at the moment. Very satisfied.

The only one to buy
Very accurate. After taking your blood pressure, it is essential to wait several minutes before taking it again, to allow your arm to recover from the compression. After a pause, a second reading will always give the same result. I have tried several electronic machines that are very popular, but they give hugely different readings each time and in my experience you need to spend over £200 to get an accurate reliable electronic machine. This simple machine is easier to use and far more accurate and entirely reliable. Buy it. (You also need a stethoscope of course!)

Good option
Came very well packaged. Opted for this on the strength of the reviews and concur with many of the reviewers. Good sized, easy to read dial, the body of which is plastic with a shiny finish; ultimately not as robust as a metal housing but certainly lighter. Release valve has a smooth and progressive action which is a pleasure in use. Three separate cuffs with inflation tubes which push over the valve inlet/outlet (tightly). The cuff sizes are marked as Large Adult, Adult and Child and are of generous proportions, with the ample velcro fasteners positioned such that a wide range of fit is possible. Very light and compact; all fits in neatly in the provided carry pouch. Good value for money with attention to the smaller details which makes it completely fir for purpose.

The dial broke after using it for a month so now unusable
Why did you choose this product over others?: Because it had 3 sized cuffs and was good value

Cheap, great build quality, would buy again.
Excellent manual BP sphygmomanometer for the price. Cuff sizes are realistic for paediatric, adult and XL arms. Operation of gauge is smooth and easy to read. Been using this in the prehospital setting for a few years. Easy to use, easy to clean and maintain. If anything at all, I would like to have received some information on periodic calibration to ensure the device was taken care of,but at less than £20.00 I would be happy to replace it annually. Overall a great product.

Ideal for any medical student
Lovely kit came as expected. Works great, a bit of a knack to it but got the hang of it eventually. I'm a student nurse so it's perfect to practice on at home!

Hole in smaller cuff
Ok product. It works but I could not inflate the smaller cuff as there was a hole in the area of the connection between tube receiver and the rubber bladder. Probably poor build quality. Certainly a failure if quality testing. So… you get what you pay for. Will see how long the other one lasts. Pity as I got it for the small cuff as my patients have very thin arms.

Accurate anaerobic sphyg
Bought for my visit bag, this kit means that I now have a cuff large enough for my bariatric patients as well as the paediatric cuff for children. The single tube is much easier to use with one hand than a double tube. Excellent value & calibration confirmed by medical physics. Highly recommended
