RØDEVC1 Stereo 3.5mm Extension Cable, Headphone

I bought this to replace the factory 3.5mm extension cable that came with my ModMic 5, as it was producing an unignorable 50hz interferance hum in recordings and was a little too short for my liking.This cable succeeds in completely removing said hum as soon as it is plugged in and meets my length requirements. It also feels very sturdy and supports the small cable management clips that came with the ModMic.Expected good quality from Rode and they delivered. I am extremely pleased. Highly recommended.

Actually I would make sure you buy a longer cable too ... but 3m is an essential for me. I use this with a Rode video mic when I need to keep the mic plugged into a DSLR and not a field recorder. Allows me to get the mic nice and close when filming wider angle shots ... too short for longer shots of course. Quality is good and there are no issues with the sound. Great value and once again worth buying a few of these or at least cables of varying lengths.

The product came appropriately packaged, and worked very well. The cable is perfect to buy if you want to record audio on your RODE mic far away, or (in my case) if you buy the RODE boompole, I'd recommend the 2M one, so that the extra 1M gives you a bit of leeway from your camera. The wire is well-built and the quality of sound RODE produces is exemplary. A good purchase from a very good company. Well worth the buy in my opinion!

It's a little difficult to review this in-depth as essentially it's simply a 3m black wire that allows you to extend the distance that you place your Rode mic. It comes in very handy and for the price, it does come in as an essential piece of equipment.If you are working with a small budget there are other cheaper alternatives available on Amazon and eBay but I always say "buy cheap, buy twice" as that is usually the case. In Rode products, you know it is going to be good quality and durable along with decent support.

Bought this because I was using a generic 3.5mm cable that was making a horrible noise over my audio (recording a Rode Video Mic Pro straight into a Sony A6500). So I rolled my eyes and looked for the official Rode extension lead, plus it has a coiled section which helps with any snagging of the cable. So far it's worked well.

I purchased this cable because my Rode VideoMic pro was getting occasional interference from my field monitor during interviews. The cable allowed me to move the microphone a fair distance away from the camera which made every difference! Yes the cable is more expensive than some generic unbranded ones, but rode supply products I can trust and would much prefer to throw the extra few pounds towards, especially given my my business is in the film industry. An excellent cable for the price and suits it’s purpose.

Works as intended! Used it to boom a microphone out of frame for a YouTube video.

Wanted to use the RØDE video micro as a boom mic and VC1 has more or less been reviewed, tested and used for years by others and it is a bullet proof product so picked it up to have a piece of mind. 3 meter is more than enough and you could use this cable for other applications it’s TRS after all.
