So far, so very good
I don't normally write reviews. For the very low price this is remarkable. Setting it up was really easy and the instruction booklet is more than adequate albeit difficult to read due to the small text. You must use the remote to control it, so the sensor must be plugged in. It's true that the remote is a little clunky and the guide is not the sort typically found on more expensive devices, however the guide is very easy to use and once you get used to it, quite acceptable. I have been recording programs via the PVR for the few weeks that I have owned it and it has never missed a beat. The picture quality is excellend via the hdmi connection. You can schedule many recordings over many days/weeks, you only need to ensure that you have sufficient storage on your usb stick. That it records to a memory stick is an advantage to me as it allows to transfer recorded programs to the pc where if need be, I can then play the program on Windows Media Player or VLC etc. Once copied to the pc you can convert the video (mts.) into another file type to suit the needs of any portable player. I have played the recorded mts. video on a different LG smart tv via it's usb port and it works absolutely fine, so mostly I intend to keep with the mts. format. I have only had the device for about a month, so if it goes kaput I will edit this review.

A good buy for less then £20.
Very good value for the price. Good picture and recording quality and easy to install. Would advise using manual channel scan if your aerial picks up from more than one transmitter as the auto scan will store the programs on a first found basis regardless of signal strength. Marked down 1 star as it can occasionally "drop" a multiplex channel contents into the 800 (unknown) program number range so you need to re-scan that channel. Also the provided user guide does not reflect the remote supplied. Apart from that very pleased with it and would recommend for a simple single tuner / recorder.

iHD View products seen to be rubbish.
I've had to replace loads of digital set top boxes because they stop working after a few months, especially the iHD View ones that I can't seem to avoid buying, for some reason. My present one needs constant retuning, as it keeps losing channels, and the sound doesn't sync with the picture. The EPG is also rubbish, as you can't watch a channel and browse others : it changes to the channel you're browsing, and you can only view one channel at a time. It always takes ages for the guide to show the correct time and programme for each channel. iHD View products (and I've had 5 of them now) are rubbish for those in the price range up to around £25, so buy better ones if you an afford them. I am very annoyed at this one and its predecessors. The only good point with this one is that it's neat and discrete, fitting directly to the SCART socket without the need for a cable. A small pickup at the front of the TV for the remote is all you see.

Good product...
...which proves to be an excellent replacement for a very old unit which eventually fizzled out; only a couple of small issues - the user manual is printed with so small a typeface, some magnification is needed to be sure one reads it correctly; also, the SCART seems not to fit as readily or as securely as expected into a set which although old has a SCART socket not previously used, so effectively it's as new, and needs a little supporting as its own weight and the additional weight of the antenna cables in and out makes it sag and it tends to come unplugged; once that's sorted it performs very well indeed and my old set has a new lease of life at a very competitive price.

Easy to set up and good picture but has some software issues
I bought this (about 3 weeks ago at the time of writing) as the remote for our small bedroom TV had been mangled by our new pup and rather than get a new remote I got this to not only get a new remote but to also get the RTE channels and the other main channels in HD. The unit arrived very quickly and was very easy to set up and tune-in.Easy to use and the picture quality is quite good. On the downside it is time consuming to arrange your favourite channel list and just after I'd managed to do this the unit tried to update and I lost everything and had to start again. Ironic given that the seller advised that other similar units on sale had software problems. This has happened a further couple of times so not perfect but given the price it's hard to complain too much.Probably acceptable for a second or bedroom TV but I wouldn't recommend for your main TV.

Good value
Cracking little unit. I bought it to upgrade an HD ready TV with no Freeview HD tuner to be able to receive Sky HD from my Eddison HD distribution box as well as get Freeview HD. Works perfectly. Nice and compact. Be aware that if you want HD you will need an HDMI cable to feed HD into the TV as the SCART is not deigned to do that.

Extraordinarily good value.
I was happily surprised by just how good this gadget is. Worked straight out of the box. It has turned my TV into an HD set, giving me the HD Freeview channels that I couldn't receive before. It can either plug into the SCART socket (which gives the channels, but not in HD), or via the HDMI sockets, giving excellent HD quality. Very highly recommended.
