Faithfull HSS Turning Chisel Set of 8 in Wooden Presentation Box Suitable for Hard and Soft Woods, Walnut

Great value for money. They need honing, as per instruction on the box. Seem to be a good quality steel that takes and edge and keeps it. Comfortable in the hand. Steel has a corrosive protective coating on, as you'd expect but other reviewers have moaned about. (I've left the coating on for protection). The box is handy, I've retained the silica sachets in the box for added protection. My tools are in an unheated garage/workshop/safe haven which can cause materials to sweat. Package arrived promptly and in good condition. I'm a beginner to the art of wood turning and I consider these chisels to be more than adequate without spending silly money for a "name". I recommend the chisel and seller.

These are my first lathe tools so I've nothing to compare against other than pictures. I'm very happy with these though, they're heavy, feel solid, are long, and are comfortable to hold and manoeuvre. They're sharp enough to cut with out of the box, but you'll want to sharpen them further before use. You'll sharpen them regularly anyway to keep their edge. They are coated in varnish though (even the chisel end) as if the whole tool was dipped in varnish. I guess it's to keep them from rusting, but I'd rather they were just oiled and plastic wrapped. I keep my tools clean and oil coated anyway.

Very good value for money, not the cheapest but, so far, I am not disappointed. The chisels were sharp straight out of the box (which is cheaply made) and so far I have not had to sharpen them, although I have only been turning Lebanese Cedar and sycamore, no really hard wood yet. I have no hesitation in recommending these chisels as a mid range set for the hobbyist wood turner.

Chisels look great. The case they are supplied with is very flimsy for the product they carry.

Very good quality, holds a nice sharp edge for a good amount of time, I've brought these as my first set and did think I would have to replace them at some point, but the quality is so good I e just need adding to the set as they will last me for years! Much better than expected and you won't be disappointed.

Overall I'm happy with this as a starter set, the 2 gouges (spindle and roughing) are effective, require regular sharpening (pretty much once/bowl) Missing decent bowl gouges. The skews don't seem to hold an edge very well, but that might just be me... I bought to learn with, and they have done that job fine, continuing to use, but did add 2 higher quality bowl gouges. The parting tool seems a bit rough. I did need to round the edges of the rectangular section chisels, to get a smooth slide on the rest.

I've just started wood turning and bought these chisels as my birthday present. They are fantastic. Really top quality product that are nice to work with. They come in a lovely wooden box so that you can keep them in a safe place and always know where they are. The company that sold them to posted them the same day as ordered and they came the day after. I highly recommend this product.

J'ai commandé ce lot de gouges et ciseaux pour tourner le bois et il est arrivé le lendemain grâce à Amazon Prenium ! Carton soigné avec du papier pour bien caler le colis et les outils sont en plus dans un coffret en bois à la fois joli et qui permet de les ranger et les protéger. En eux-mêmes, dès la premiere prise en main, les différents ciseaux respirent la qualité et la solidité. La gravure H.S.S. sur chaque gouge conforte la sensation de solidité. De taille parfaite pour tourner, ils se prennent facilement en main et sont bien affûtés.

Son de muy buena calidad, lo malo que no vienen con el filo asentado, han llegado en la fecha prevista, aquí le doy un diez a Amazon porque está mejorando las entregas

Trattasi di 8 sgorbie lunghe da tornio in HSS (high speed steel), quindi qualità della lama e durata del filo che non hanno nulla da invidiare alle note e costose sgorbie di manufattura austriaca..solo che al prezzo di una sgorbia di quellequi ne comprate 8! Tutte con manico in noce, pressoché perfette nella fattura e le ricevete in una elegantissima valigetta con doppia chiusura. Le sgorbie sono vendute da una ditta britannica ma presumo che per il prezzo così basso le facciano produrre in cina o giù di lì, in ogni caso la faccia ce la mettono gli inglesi e la qualità si vede. Inoltre da sottolineare che le sgorbie a sgrossare sono davvero massicce, specie la piu grande. La valigetta contiene 3 sgorbie a sgriossare dalla piu grande alla piu piccola ad unghia, due scalpelli obliqui (uno grande e uno medio), una sgorbia tonda, una sgorbia da taglio (piuttosto ampia la sezione) e una a punta di rombo

Il prezzo è buono !Questo prodotto lo consiglio non solo ai principianti, ma anche ai più esperti nel contesto di tornitura del legno! Io sono soddisfattissimo , grazie !!!!!
