An outstanding portable fan (a genuine Amazon hidden gem)
This is hands down one of the best “finds” I’ve made over the years on Amazon, having bought more than one for different purposes. It’s rare that an Amazon purchase is not just better value, but actually functionally superior to most local offerings such as John Lewis or Argos etc. It is relatively pricey compared to others in the same category, but in this case, you don’t get what you don’t pay for; it’s in a class of its own.It is powered by a USB connection that can be plugged into a wall adapter, or a battery pack. It has two settings, gentle and powerful. The gentle setting is relatively quiet, the powerful is stronger than you’d expect. Obviously it can’t rival a full sized fan, but the magic of the clip is that you can mount it closer to your head in situations where you are desperate for serious cooling. We’ve travelled with it (using portable batteries on the move) and had it going on busses, guest rooms with inadequate cooling, even when working at a desk. It doesn’t oscillate obviously, but it offers pretty much full 360 tilt and rotation. I wouldn’t change a thing. The oldest has lasted years so longevity isn’t an issue either. It has a somewhat chunky profile I suppose, but more importantly it’s lightweight and the frame keeps it safe which ultimately is a preferable design choice, so the size is only an issue if you don’t have space to carry it. Having grown to love it, I usually try to make space. Also, of course I could be wrong, but the Japanese characters covering the box suggests it’s imported into Japan making it more than just a cheap Chinese knock off, and this is backed up by the functionality.Right now I have it here in the hospital keeping me cool while I keep an eye on my newborn. And yet again, amid this heatwave we are currently facing, I was overwhelmed with how grateful I am for owning it as I unpacked it and mounted it by my head, allowing my wife full guilt-free use of the main fan!6/5 stars, honestly. If you're looking for a good compact desk fan that can double as a portable device, look no further. And as I said, pairs excellently with a portable battery pack where the situation calls for it.

Keynice Mini USB Clip and Desk Personal Fan
I needed a small clip on fan to place on my computer screen and saw the Keynice Mini USB Clip and Desk Personal Fan, Quiet Operation, Desk Fan, Desk Fans, mini fan, table fan,4 Inch 2 Speed Portable Cooling Fan USB Powered by NetBook, Computer MacBook, Power Bank, and PC, 360° up and down ,for Home Office - Black on the Amazon website.I saw the price rrp on Amazon was £15.99, and even when the price they were selling it at, £10.59 was too expensive for what it was as I didn’t know how long it would last or have sturdy it would be.Plus I’d seen some of the reviews saying some didn’t work when they’d arrived and others said it broke easily, so there was no way I was going to pay that in case there was a problem when it arrived here.So I decided to look for the same thing in Amazons Warehouse Deals, to my delight I saw the fan being sold at £5.88 due to the box having slight damage, so at that price I couldn’t resister it.When it arrived, I took it out of the box and checked it straight away, there was no problem with it.You can use it stood on your desk or clipped on your flat screen monitor, (I do the latter). The one I have is made from black plastic and has white fan blades. The clip is made of hard plastic and has a good quality spring. It’s easy to attach to the monitor and easy to take off. You can turn the main part of the fan from left to right and the plastic it’s connected to is hard and sturdy. You’ve hard plastic round the fan blades and the plastic grill is slightly soft, but it’s hard enough for it to be safe. The fan button is on the back and the cable you attach to your fan is across from the button. There are two speeds, one (I) which is gentle and two (II) which is quick. The o is in the middle and means it’s switched off.At night time when I switch my computer off, to my surprise it still works, must be because I have it attached to another lead that goes into my tab docking system, so I’m able to have that on all night. I have it on whilst I sleep, gentle blows while I’m in bed, (I’m half a metre away from my fan), I have it on the second setting, which is great for the Winter months. It’s very quiet, so it doesn’t bother me whilst I’m sleeping. So far I’ve had it just over a week and it’s been on every day for almost 24hrs, (I knock it off when I’m not in the room).I must admit I was a little dubious about buying this due to some of the reviews, but I can safely say I’m very happy with it.Can’t grumble for the price I paid when I got it out of the Amazon Warehouse Deals, (have bought a few items that way and have always been pleased), and for it being less than £5.88 I’ve got a great little deal.So far so good, so I can recommend this product, (I will update in a few months to let you know how it’s going).

Good fan for night time
Great fan for night time use. It's not huge but the air flow spreads well. It's best feature, on the low setting, is that it's almost silent and easy to sleep next to. The low setting is remarkably decent too and kept me cool on some of the really humid late August nights we've been having in London this year.I even plugged it into my portable mobile phone battery and used it on the tube. Looks a little odd, but does the trick. I'm old, so I don't care what I look like anymore :-)Downsides? The high setting is a little noisy, especially compared to the low setting, although not too bad. The stand isn't great and it can wobble about a bit. Tactical application of velcro / blu-tack seems to do the job though. There is a clip, but I don't use it as it seems to add to the noise due to vibration. I knocked a star off for these minor issues, although it would only have been 1/2 a star if that was possible. It's also really easy to go out and leave the fan on when it's on it's low setting (as you won't hear it), so be on the lookout for that.I didn't get any discounts or freebies to write this review.
