G.I. Joe Retaliation Alley Viper Action Figure

Really great GI Joe figure. The first wave of Retaliation figures wasn't that great (although the rest have been fantastic) but this is one of the gems. I don't particularly like the color scheme, but it works, son likes it and that's what is important. The figure itself is very possible and while it does not show it in the pictures here, all the ones I've received have come with web gear that holds a large machete type blade. Also comes with a sub machine gun, assault rifle, helmet, baton and shield. The shield is particularly great as it has a space for the baton, holds it very snug and actually has made it much less likely to lose the baton. Came with a zip line too, which was played with a bunch by both the kid and maybe not so oddly, our family cats.

Very delicate. It’s quite small. Very easy to move each limb. May be too easy. To be determined if it can withstand my children.

This is actually a pretty great figure, so I’m going to get the cons out of the way first: 1) The paint on the figure’s face was off, which left it with an odd look. 2) I know this is the same mold from the Pursuit of Cobra era, but I would’ve loved ankle rockers like on the ninja figures. Now that we have those out of the way.. I love the overall figure. The design looks cool and the colors pop (though mine is getting customized into a Battle Corps version now..points if you know which one I’m talking about). The articulation is pretty great, even with the gear, and the Alley Viper does NOT need a stand for most poses unless you need it jumping or standing on one foot. Definitely worth $19.99, but if you simply must pay more to get it, it still won’t hurt too much because it really is an overall great figure.
