ESSENTIAL KIT FOR DIY
Doing up our cottage is never ending and often the cause of the delay is the fiddly sanding that needs doing. Staircase is the big pet hate for me as it has all those awkward areas, that, in the past, took ages by hand to sand down so would often get a flash of paint instead. To my mind, you only pass through that area so doesn't warrant too much scrutiny from the untrained eye. That's all changed now. What would have taken me maybe 35 minutes the old way took me under 5. My old B&D mouse blew up a while ago doing the very same area and although it says its good at its job, reality showed poor results and took more time as you could only run it for a couple of minutes at a time so as not to get too hot. The file belt sander was ok but would do too good a job if your not careful and would sand away the wood more than i'd like. Along came this little beauty. I was skeptical to start when I ordered it thinking the usual, will it be too heavy, will it handle those finicky areas and how long will the pads last etc.. I needn't have worried. This is an absolute pleasure to use. It handles easy as not too heavy despite its size. Its pretty quite too. I was expecting it to be much louder and get noticeable hand vibration but nope. Its actually a real pleasure to use this for sanding. I've not used all of the attachments yet but I'm sure I will. When I opened the box and went through all the bits, one thing that stood out and reassured me this was quality is its spare set of motor brushes. No idea how long each set, in working hours, they are expected to last but its good to know you wont be left half way though a project waiting for the post to bring them.

Great tool slightly let down by the case.
Great tool overall. Used it to cut through skirting boards and plaster so far and it did the job great. Also used to cut through two 10mm steel bolt on my car which was difficult to access by any other tool. It cut through these well, doing so did chip the blade teeth, but this was on a hard steel bolt which the blade is not really designed for so can't knock it for that. Dust extraction works well but sometimes the two sections of pipe detach which can be a bit annoying. Blade changes are quite easy, but it can be a bit fiddly getting the small pegs aligned when putting the new blade on. As it's all black it can be hard to see especially if your eyesight isn't what it used to be. You do get an audible rattle when the blade cover is not aligned properly, so easy to tell from that. Can be a bit annoying if you have to change tools often. If you're using one of these frequently then you may be best investing in more expensive model with tool free blade changes. But at this price I can't complain. LED is a great touch and works well, you can use the same blades as many other brands and the 2 year warranty is very good. I normally go for the bigger brands for tools, but when this was nearly a third of the price and it wasn't a tool I would use frequently I gave it a try and must say I'm impressed, I now use it quite frequently. I've bought a few other items by vonhaus and must say they have been very good quality at a very reasonable price. Main let down is the case, some of the blades don't fit correctly in their slots so fall out when you are trying to close the case. You can keep the rectangular blade on when putting into the case but you have to turn it around to allow it to fit. The other blades would need to be removed. Also the dust extraction hose needs to be removed before you place into the case. The tool fits into the case okay, but can be bit of a fiddle to get it all in and close the lid. If the case was slightly better quality to hold the blades properly, and a larger case to allow the tool to fit in easily and prevent the dust extraction having to be removed, I would give it 5 stars. But overall great tool at a bargain price.

Very good value for money, strongly recomended.
Seems to be solidly made, feels like good quality and is certainly good value for the price. The attachments look a little flimsy, but time will tell and anyway there are plenty of alternatives available if needed. Update I bought this in March 2015 and it's proved to be very robust and reliable. I bought it originally thinking that if I found it useful I would buy a better one, but in fact I don't need to, this has been fully adequate for some fairly hefty DIY use, and is still going strong. I did replace the original tools that came with it, as they weren't very good, but alternatives are readily available. I've just ordered a second one for my son in law.

Jobs Done Easier and Quicker!
This machine is superb. I'd previously used a friends Bosch model at almost three times the price and a lot less power, but this beats it hands down Took delivery in the morning. First job was using the scraper to lift perished carpet tape in a large room. This was taking forever by hand but an hour with this multi tool and the job was complete. Worth the price just for this! Then moved on to lifting floorboards, adjusting doors and frames, sanding and removing mouldy sealant from window frames. All excellent and made a whole load easier and quicker There's no end to the uses you can find for this machine. A real bargain Edit: Had this machine in use for most of the day. It does get hot but for the amount of work it's done (and saved me) that's not surprising. Just give it a rest now and then. I'd add that I'm doing jobs in minutes that would have taken hours and hours previously. Honestly, if this machine dies on me tomorrow it will have been worth every penny I paid, it's save me so much time and effort. This has quickly become something I wouldn't want to be without

Does exactly what it said it would
Nice set, with everything you need. The box is a little cheap and everything does not fit back as well as when it was first opened but that is not a big issue. The main tool is solid and feels very comfortable when used. Easy to interchange the heads and very efficient at what I needed it for. Used this to trim my newly fitted flooring and it worked a treat. Had to purchase additional saw plates but they were very universal and easy to find on the web.
