Kodak Portra 160 35mm 36exp Professional 5 Pack

Kodak Portra 160 is probably the best colour print film available. The colours and colour balance are excellent; with no particular bias, or emphasis, to any colour. All colours are rendered lifelike and natural, and definition is also, excellent. Skin tones are particularly good and natural. This is not the case with certain other films, that I have tried. Fuji film tends to emphasize the yellows and greens in the picture, and lesser Kodak film emphasizes the reds and browns, in the picture. The ASA 160 speed rating is a little slow, but gives a grain-free picture. One limitation of this film is that it has a shorter shelf life than amateur film. I would recommend it be kept in the fridge until needed. I would recommend this film to every professional, and keen amateur photographer.

This is the best portrait film you can use fort film photography!!! Low grain superior skin tones , and low grain , good in most good light sytuations and work very well With my Nikon SB910 speedlight . Super sharp - the best pro film u can get for a price !!!

What needs to be said about Portra that hasn't been said already? Skin tones are fantastic, fine grain at good enlargement sizes (with both 35mm and 120 versions) and incredible amounts of exposure latitude. It's like magic film. This and the 400 speed version are my staples for colour film now, no question.

Makes for a cheap-ish, high quality walkabout film for most outdoor situations, especially if you'll end up photographing people and don't need the extra stop (or thereabouts) of Portra 400. Colours can appear to be a bit muted/cold and the contrast is a bit low but I quite like this. If you're after vivid, rich, slide-film colours from your C41, get onto Ektar.

I'm using a vintage Kodak Retina iiic film camera from the 1950s/60s that has an amazing Schneider 50mm lf2 lens. But I have to use an exposure meter, so prefer negative as it's more tolerant of small exposure errors. And this is lovely film, especially for portraits.

This is hands down the best film I've ever used with my 35mm OM-10! The colours are startling and it is extremely reliable - I recommend giving this film a try at least once. It is however more expensive that some 35mm but you do get what you pay for this this case.

Kodak Portra is really a 'modern classic' film, popular with portrait photographers as the name suggests. This film is of course optimised for portrait photography and renders very natural/muted tones and colours, so if you're after a film that produces very vivid colours, perhaps for landscape photography, then Portra is not for you, but if you're after natural colours then this a good choice. There's not really much to say about it other than the natural colours it produces makes it an ideal film for portrait photography when used in good light and with a good lens it really does produce 'exceptional skin tones' as it says on the box. It could be used for landscapes if you're after a more natural effect. With this being 160 speed, there's little grain, but is harder to use in low light than say the 400 speed version of this film is, of course. I bought this pack of 5 about a year ago and have currently shot 4 rolls, shooting a variety of subjects from landscapes to portraits. Of course, the landscapes were a little disappointing, but that was to be expected. I was very pleased with all of the portrait shots on the other hand. Please see the attached scans (these were scanned professionally and have not been edited at all) showing a variety of photos I've shot with Portra 160. I used a Nikon F80 with a Nikon 50mm f/1.8G.

Amazing rolls of film!! Great quality scans and the colours are just stunning! Film photography had only recently become my hobby and the Portra 160 was the first roll of film I have used and I'm just amazed by the look of the photos, with smooth and natural skin tones.
