How is this for blocking out conversations in an office?

I've never used them in that setting but it would probably reduce the noise but not completely get rid of it. I put them on and turned the TV up real loud and it reduced the noise but I still heard the tv.

what is real weight? top of page says 7.65oz but grid says 8.6?
