Ultra sharp, ultra smooth, ultra consistent.
So, fun fact: Personna used to have a razor blade known as Personna 74s, and they were famously made with tungsten steel. These blades have been discontinued for years and years, and are expensive and sought after. Personna Super blades, also known as Personna Medical Prep blades, which I'm reviewing right now, are officially known as Personna model 74-0002.These are effectively the new version of the Personna 74s. They're probably not as durable, but they sure do give the cleanest, most consistent shave of any razor I have, and they're super sharp. This is why hospitals use them! Sharper blades means few passes, which means less irritation for your skin.If I had to only use one type of blade, out of all of the ones I own, I would pick these. Even over any of the Russian made Gillette blades.

Outstanding D.E. razor blade and made in America!
I've been Wet Shaving for over twenty plus years using a lathering bowl, a quality T.O.B.S. (Taylor of Old Bond Street ) Sandalwood wet shave soap, a Badger Hair shave brush, a quality Double Edge (D.E.) razor, and D.E. blades. After years of trial and error, I settled on 'Feather' and 'Nacet' brand D.E. blades. They are two of the sharpest and durable blades on the market, especially the Feather blade. However, they are both made in other countries, Feather in Japan, and the Nacet in various countries. They are imported into America.I was searching one day for D.E. blades made in America and found the Personna Double Edge Razor Blades. After further research, including on several Wet Shave forums, I found that they are rated comparably to the Feather and Nacet, so I bought 100 blade package. The package was less expensive than either the Feather or Nacet, which is nice. It's better to keep money in my pocket than send it overseas.Much to my pleasant surprise, the Personna Double Edge Razor Blades shaved just as close and smooth, and lasted as long, as the more expensive blades. The bonus is that they are made in America.Disposable, plastic multi-blade head razors are not only really expensive, but they are also wasteful and have to be buried in landfills. Definitely not good for our planet. Metal D.E. blades can be recycled and used again. Please note: The American made blades have a very light laser engraving of the name and can be hard to see in some circumstances. Tilting the blade back and forth can make it easier to see.If you want a very efficient D.E. blade and help keep Americans employed and manufacturing in America, these are the blades for you!

Really Good Value
You can look up the history of the acquisition of the Personna brand name - several companies have owned it, but they’ve been made in the same spots each time. There are various explanations of this on the badgerandblade forums. You can also look up old media releases about the sale / acquisition of the Personna blade manufacturing / name. The box that showed up had the Accutec labeling on the side. USA made. The blades themselves are single wrapped in wax paper, no wax dots on the blade. No markings on the blades at all - not laser etched, not inked. This is also discussed in the forums. The Personna blade name is one of the most confusing for the question of “which ones should I buy”. Some might have been treated with a disinfecting wash, some might have been oil coated, some might have printing, some might not, etc.Was expecting it to be a box labeled Edgewell, which is one of the companies that has owned the Personna blade manufacturing. Will gladly take the Accutec labeled ones at this price. I’ll order a few more boxes to have around.Shaves just like the batch I had bought from elsewhere that had the laser etched markings on the blades. It’s a good sharp blade, I get the same performance as a Gillette Silver Blue which are about the same price (and available from the same vendors). For the money, it’s a good value.UPDATE: Sep 25, 2024: these are performing consistent with other personnas I’ve used with slightly different packaging, made in the same place. These were also tested on the badgerandblade forum thread “blade sharpness project” - and they test very consistent as they wear - stay very sharp up to the 12 use test duration. Same result I’ve noticed while using them - at one week in, they are as sharp as they were initially. two weeks use, they are still sharp.Blades like Astra SP, Gillette Silver Blue, Nacet - all start to feel a little less sharp during week two, where these do not. Those others I’ll toss the blade somewhere at the beginning of the second week, these I don’t. These are also a little sharper than the Gillette Silver Blue and Nacet (by experience and the testing at the B&B forums confirms my experience with these).I’ve sold off my stash of Astra SP, and used the proceeds to buy more of these and GSB from the same vendor.
