Few artifacts in American history ring out like the Liberty Bell. Thomas Lester, founder of the White chapel Bell Foundry in London was commissioned to cast a bell for the Philadelphia State House in 1751. Not long after its arrival late summer of 1752, a stroke of the bell's clapper actually cracked the bell. As a remedy, local Foundry men recast the bell using the original metal. The names of the foundry men, Pass and Stow, are still found on the Liberty Bell. A very nice replica that actually rings!
This was a great gift item for history buffs! My 5year old has become quite the historian & recently learned about the liberty bell watching a program. At the top of his list was liberty bell which had to ring! I loved the fact that it is a nice replica with attention to detail with crack and all. Not the ideal Xmas gift for a child however it makes for a great paperweight or keepsake.

Very nice base and lovely replica of the liberty bell
I gave it as a gift to a Chinese friend. The only improvement I could see would be to put a plaque on the bottom of the base that covered the historical information on the box.

It arrived in good time, is nice to desplay, but is much smaller than I expected, although I think the dementions were stated. Happy Liberty.
