I waited a few weeks after purchasing to write this review so I would know how it stands up to some everyday tasks. I bought all three of the knives in this series and this is by far my favorite. The frame liner lock is superior to the traditional liner lock as the grip of your hand assists the locking mechanism which is a plus over the others. The blade curvature is gorgeous and the finish is amazing. I love the aesthetics of this knife. The heaviness I think is appropriate for the beastliness of this knife.Now into the mechanics. The assisted opening function didn't work when I first got it, it took quite a bit to break it in and it still doesn't work perfectly (e.g. I can't use just the thumbstud and momentum of the spring to open it) but it works fairly good now. It hasn't had any problems after the first few days. The steel quality is mid-range so it isn't a perfect knife, but the edge does hold up well. Due to the shape of the blade it can be tricky to sharpen on a traditional whetstone, but it is far from impossible.All in all this knife is a pretty solid, I would give it 5 stars and say it's well worth the money.

I've had 4 of these knifes now... I'll start by saying, I'm hard on my knifes. I'm a mechanic and I use this knife for so much stuff at work every day, from cutting wires to using it for things it's not meant for.. It has held up to every task I've ever thrown at them over the last 3 or 4 years. The knifes are superior quality, the blade is sharp as can be out of the box and the thing is just a tank. You can feel the quality in just thr weight of it alone. The other thing I love about these are the strength of the blades. They DO NOT bend. The only issues I've had (this is why I've had 4 now) are the little screws that hold the knife together somehow dissappear over thr course of 9 months or so. I also carry mine EVERY SINGLE DAY, and use it every single day... I would recommend you take the screws out one at a time and apply a drop of loc-tite on each one, and you will never have an issue with it. If you just want a fantastic all around knife that you can count in, is durable as heck and it's gonna be something you just carry around? This is it. Hands down, I don't ever want a different knife. 👌

The Kershaw Lifter looks and feels as if its worth more than $20. The blackwash coating really compliments its style, and the all metal construction makes it feel extremely sturdy. The Lifter has a smooth and fast deployment with the option of using either the flipper or the thumb studs. There is some side-to-side play, so I slightly tightened the screw which helped in that aspect, but the smooth opening was crippled. This knife also uses nylon pivot washers, just FYI in case someone wanted to know. Pocket clip cannot be mounted on any other side of the blade.The Lifter's blade is made from 3Cr13 steel, that being said, I'd gladly pay a little more if the blade was at least 8cr13mov. The blade doesn't keep its sharp edge for too long, and I find myself sharpening it a bit more often than my blades with 8cr13mov. This is where the Lifter's cheap price becomes apparent. Don't get me wrong, the blade can be sharp if sharpened correctly...I'd recommend this knife if you collect based on aesthetics, but not if you're looking for a knife to keep up with everyday tasks without having to sharpen the blade very often. Personally, I bought this based on its aggressive appearance for the small price tag. If you're looking for a knife to keep up with constant use (let's say for work), look at some other knives before considering purchasing this model.Pros:- Great looking knife.- All metal construction (minus the nylon washers).- Flipper and thumb studs.- Smooth and fast assisted deployment.Cons:- 3Cr13 steel blade.- Constant sharpening maintenance.- Side-to-side play- Single pocket clip mounting option.

THIS IS THE SECOND PURCHASE, BUT THE OPENING AND CLOSING WAS TOO ROUGH. I HAD TO DISASSEMBLE IT AND POLISH SOME PARTS AND I HAD TO BEND THE TENSIONER A BIT SO THAT IT WASN'T SO DIFFICULT TO OPEN THE KNIFE, I ALSO ELIMINATED THE THUMB OPENING BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE IT. BUT YOU CAN'T ASK FOR MUCH FOR THE PRICE IT HAS, IT'S FAIR. I WOULD LIKE THEM TO MAKE THIS SAME KNIFE BUT WITH A BETTER STEEL BLADE, BUT WITH THE SAME DESIGN. IT ARRIVED VERY WELL PACKAGED AND A FAST DELIVERY. I STILL RECOMMEND THIS KNIFE, A SOLID KNIFE AND WITH AN EXCELLENT PRICE.

First thing: This is a HEAVY knife. It is pocket-carry capable, particularly with jeans, but many will find the weight a bit much for an EDC (everyday carry) folder. On the up side, this beast is solid stainless, and is built to take a beating. At the price, I don't believe you could get a more brutish and solid folding knife. I really like the blade shape, with a bit of recurve behind the tanto point. I find it to be a good shape for a lot of roughneck tasks.This is a blade that you could take with you when you have rough work to do, and don't want to worry about ruining an expensive knife. One caveat: I found that sharpening this blade shape required two separate passes, one on the tip and one on the recurved portion of the blade. I found that a straight ceramic stick worked best. This would be a bit of a bear to do with a flat stone.Speedsafe works well, though this knife is a bit tight. I count that as a plus for pocket safety. The frame lock is solid, so back to front lockup is very solid. For better side to side lockup, you'd have to look for a knife three or four times the cost (Not as strong as my Junk Yard Dog).If you need a tougher beater knife, you'll probably want to just get a fixed blade. The blackwash finish is neat, but will scratch if you're cutting through abrasive materials. (for instance, cutting aluminum or tin cans). This doesn't take away from the knife much, as it comes to you with a weathered, industrial look.
