Fast efficient printer.
I’ve had printer for a year. Don’t make large quantities of prints. Printer has worked beautifully until just recently. Suddenly produced blurry, unreadable prints. I went to settings and ran what was called power cleaning. That fixed everything.

Don't waste your money
I've had this printer for over 6 months now. The print quality is just average and the ink usage is terrible. I don't print that often and usually black and white - about 10-15 pages per month. "Magically," within 1 month of replacing them, the color ink cartridges are running low with very little use. Generic cartridges do not work with this printer - Only Epson brand ink is compatible. And at $54-$60 per refill for all the cartridges, the cost is too expensive to operate. I will be looking for a new printer to replace this one.

Printer
This printer is less than $100. You get what you pay for. "Normal" print quality is sometimes not great, so for a lot of things I use the "best" print quality setting. Also, it does go through ink cartridges quickly, but the ink cartridges aren't that expensive. It's fine for the money; just know that it's not a super nice office quality printer.

Simple set-up, works well with my wi-fe
Just finished setting up and printing some documents on the XP-5200. I was worried that the set up would be difficult -- I long for the days when you could download a driver and hook up with a cable and off you go. I was pleased that the set-up, using both the front panel and the app which you must download, the process was pretty seamless. No frustrating errors or mishaps. It does take 30 minutes or so for the entire process, but the app takes you step by step through the process. A third of the set-up is just getting the printer ink charged and going through the alignment process.Print quality is excellent. That said, I am mostly printing calendars, reports, and word documents, so color alignment is not a high priority.Same size as my previous HP 2700 printer. There was nothing wrong with my HP printer EXCEPT that when I upgraded my wifi, the printer was no longer compatible. In additional the HP app was a nightmare compared to the EPSON.

Cheap Up Front, Expensive (in troubleshooting, ink, and money) in the End
We bought this printer cuz it was <$100 and the reviews were decent. The problem is ink cartridges are expensive. The ink will say it’s running out after maybe 3 printings of 5 pages. The cartridges don’t feel visibly lighter, and yet they’re “empty.” You use the XL carts, and the life is maybe a couple printings more. I’ve spent at least $300 on ink in the 10 months of ownership. The other problem is with the print heads. The ink will be full but the print quality is terrible. Then you perform a Nozzle Cleaning or a Power Washing (which costs ink). The effectiveness of these automated cleanings is sub-par, and then I need to replace the ink yet again.Last thing. The ink is Epson 222. You will not likely find it at Target, Best Buy, or Walmart. It’s on Amazon and some Office Depots. So good luck if you need more ink same day. You’ll find 202, 212, and 232, but curiously not the 222 you’re looking for. Maybe the stores know something (like that they’re expensive and people would want a refund)?Do not buy.

My third Epson printer
I've had countless printers of many different brands. About seven years ago, I bought my first Epson. It had a major defect that prevented it being usable. Epson sent a replacement immediately, without my needing to return the defective one. I liked that. The replacement worked well until about a month ago, when it suffered a fatal (in my opinion) jamming problem. Of course, as fate would have it, replacement cartridges had just arrived. After a little research, I ordered an Epson XP-5200. It was easy to install, has more features than my old printer, and works great. To my eye, the required 222 print cartridges look like the 288 print cartridges I had ordered for my old printer. It would be nice if they worked in the new printer.

Nice BUT - VERY NOISY
First of all I am a repeat customer of Epson printers, my last one was 12 years old, XP-430, time for a new one. This came highly recommended and was priced good enough for my budget.Pros:Easy to set up. It took 10 minutes from unboxing to printing. All functions work great and its easy to save to computer, or iCloud, etc.Powers up quickly.Bottom front load paper tray (LOVE THIS).Compact design.Bluetooth connection, easy to set up and connect to wifi.Cons:Extremely loud while printing. I placed it in 3 solid places, exactly the same level of noise each time.Ink runs out way to fast and is expensive to replace even for generic brands (hard to find)Black ink is base and I hardly printed anything and was notified ink was out!I trusted the reviews but never saw one that commented on noise or ink levels. It is still a great product but do your homework before purchasing if you require heavy printing or a quiet device.
