This is a well-made tool that does its intended job well. The design makes it easy to extract even large dandelions and other weeds from the ground.However, while this weeder is described as being ergonomic there is virtually no padding on the handle. This might not be a problem if you only need to remove a few weeds. But I needed to remove more than 30 fat dandelions and by the time I finished the task I had a painful blister on the palm of my hand.The picture shows my solution. I cut a piece of foam pipe insulation (1 inch inside diameter), applied some gel-type super glue (I used Gorilla) to the handle, a bit at a time, pushed the foam collar over the handle. This was a tight fit and took a while to do. I then tested the modified tool on several weeds and found it to be much more comfortable to use. The foam spreads the pressure so that no one part of the palm gets the brunt of it. No more blisters.

I was hoping that this dandelion digger would work better than the older one I've had for many years. The design concept seems good, but practically speaking its not much better than my older tool. Yes, it will get dandelions up, but the root on the majority of them breaks off. I've tried different angles of "attack", but none seem to work very well. Only a few come out of the ground "whole". This means that most of them will grow back. I was basically disappointed with this purchase. However, it does work well for digging up other weeds that don't have a long root.

The tool is great for extracting dandelions and other weeds. I have also used it to dig around plants and to remove soil/weeds from pavers It is solidly made, so you don't have to worry about the tool bending if you exert pressure. The grip is also very comfortable to use. I have used similar tools in our community garden and I would have liked the prong to be a bit thinner with a wider gap I sometimes found it less easy to remove weeds with smaller, finer roots and spreading weeds like crab grass. It still is a very useful tool for any gardener and I definitely would purchase it again

I actually bought this for my daughter after she borrowed mine, she had to have her own! It is so much easier to use for weeding than the small spade I used to use. I have had mine for several years, and it is still as good as new even though it has had A LOT of use!

I have hard soil and a collection of thistle weeds. horrible combination after years of digging trying to get the root out if not it returns. I have spent lots of time and energy no more this tool is super

Powerful tool to remove weeds! I have neighbors who only have weeds for their lawn and of course that spreads to mine. This tool is great for that neverending battle! It is easily pushed into the dirt on the edge of the weed and pops the weed up from the roots. The only down side is some of my roots go far beyond the reach of this tool. If you stay on top of them and pull early it should be no problem!

Although this seems to be a hardy piece of equipment, the purpose of this tool wasn’t worth the purchase. I have issues with crabgrass and when trying to pull it up with this tool, the weed broke with the root still in the ground. I’d have just as much success with this (if not more) if I pulled it out of the ground with my hands. This was also somewhat goofy to use when trying to pull weeds up that are growing in the rock we have edging around areas of our yard. I ended up giving up.

This is GREAT for dandelions and other similar weeds with a central root. The bent handle is a MUST! My old one was flat, and BOY- is this a great improvement. The sturdy craftmanship makes me think it will last for years!
