It cocks, you can do a full cock and pull the trigger,or as my 4 year old half cocks it and it shoots a few feet that way.

We’ve used different darts, but I’m not sure if the strike darts work or not.

Mine jams a lot. You have to be very careful and precise to avoid the jams. Anyone who's ever picked mine up and tried to fire it jams the barrel within the first five darts fired.
