Versatile, easy-to-use product for wood stabilization and repairs, easy mixing, no harsh smell.
The MAS 2-part epoxy is a great multi-use epoxy that I highly recommend for wood surface stabilization and repairs. It can also be used for preparing wood surfaces for a paint finish, laminating fiberglass, and wood, and repairing rotten wood. The viscosity of this epoxy is perfect for mixing and pouring, as well as wood penetration or cleanup. The smell is not harsh, and it does not produce an amine blush after curing. The price is reasonable for the volume, and it's a great product for all sorts of projects.I found that the product is excellent at attaching fiberglass cloth to a wood structure (like a boat) when laminating. It soaks into the wood and "pulls" the cloth tightly to the wood surface, making it much less likely to "snag" or otherwise damage the cloth. It is also ideal for preparing wood for a paint finish. It improves surface hardness, adds moisture protection, and makes the application of seam and imperfection fillers go on much more smoothly. The epoxy does not get as hot when cures as other epoxies, so it's not likely to cause any bubbles on the freshly coated surface. The MAS 2-part epoxy can also be used to repair rotten wood. However, the wood must be dry and have enough structural integrity to hold the epoxy. I recommend removing the damaged parts with a wire wheel on a drill first. The product can be used to coat the rotten wood, and then it can be build up with a filler made of dry sawdust mixed with MAS. Alternatively, a new piece can be scarfed in, glued with MAS thickened with sawdust to a peanut butter consistency, and reinforced with structural screws if needed. An 8:1 scarf joint glued with epoxy is stronger than the surrounding material. The product is easy to mix and apply with a brush. However, vertical application presents some issues. The chemical reaction gets very hot when it gets close to hardening, so it's recommended to mix up a small amount at a time to have plenty of time to work, as hardening happens rather suddenly. It's worth noting that you shouldn't use the plastic container used to hold the epoxy components for mixing its components as it will deform from the heat produced during the chemical reaction. Also, users should be careful not to get the epoxy on their hands when it heats up.In summary, the MAS 2-Part Epoxy is an excellent product for wood surface stabilization and repairs. It is easy to mix and apply, with a reasonable price for the volume. Users should follow the instructions for proper use and avoid getting it in their hands when it heats up. It is ideal for preparing wood for a paint finish, laminating fiberglass and wood, and repairing rotten wood with enough structural integrity to hold the epoxy.*** TL;DR ***Overall, I definitely recommend the MAS 2-part epoxy for multiple uses and found it to be worth the money. The MAS epoxy is a versatile and easy-to-use product for wood surface stabilization and repairs. It is great for preparing wood for paint finishes, laminating fiberglass and wood, and repairing rotten wood with enough structural integrity. The product has good viscosity, is easy to mix and apply with a brush. It can create a chemical-resistant surface and seal wood. Clearly a 5-star product and will be buying more in future.++ Pros +++1) Great for wood surface stabilization and repairs.2) Good viscosity for penetration.3) Easy mixing, pouring, and cleanup.4) No harsh smell or amine blush after curing.5) Reasonable price for the volume.6) Improves surface hardness.7) Seals wood and adds moisture protection.--- Cons ---1) Applying vertically can be challenging.2) Produces heat during the chemical reaction.

Visit The Website Before Starting
First, I should have visited the website for additional information regarding the differences in their product line.I normally use a different brand and was thinking this product was along the same lines, so for the project I attempted to use this it wasn't good. After researching what went wrong I see where I may try this product for something else.Do not use if your expecting a finished epoxy look, a top coating or a resin craft.I do work with a lot of wood projects where I think this could be fun to work with and plan on giving that a try.I will update my review with a more fair review of this particular product.

Nice for salvaging old things
I was so impressed with this product. I had some old baby Adirondack chairs my husband’s elderly family member had made that had sat out in the elements for a few years and thought they were ruined. This product made it possible to salvage most of them with only a few elements needing to be replaced. Obviously it isn’t going to make rotted, super-porous wood like new again, but it can stabilize damaged wood. I really was so grateful I could save those chairs and they look lovely now thanks to this product. It will save you a lot of heartache and effort trying to use other solutions that may or may not work as well.

Light stabilizer
I originally grabbed this 2 part epoxy under the impression it worked more as a stabilizer in the vein of cactus juice; while it can function that way using a vavuum chamber, it's seems more suited for lighter or surface jobs than super deep penetration. The smell isn't harsh, and viscosity good for penetration; mixing, pouring, and cleanup all went smoothly. This is a great multi use epoxy, and price isn't terrible for the volume - I'd recommend for surface stabilization and repairs for sure

Great value
Definitely worth the money. It's a great product for projects. I love that it's Super simple to mix and apply with a brush. Anyone using it should make sure you follow the directions or else it won't work properly. I thought it set nicely on the plywood I was using and it cleaned up well.
