Upon receiving and installing this hose splitter, I was impressed by the solid construction of the brass Y-connector and how easy and comfortable it is to operate the valves. Compared to the finger torture device of my old hose splitter, the Kasian House splitter is a fantastic improvement and a pleasure to use. Although not really necessary, I applied a small squirt of WD-40 (with a straw applicator) at the base of each valve stem for extra lubrication.I didn't use the two extra plastic hose washers supplied with the splitter and I replaced the plastic washer that comes installed in the faucet connection. It's my standard practice to install or replace every hose washer used in the garden with  Danco 80787 rubber hose washers  because they make a tighter seal that lasts longer in my experience (also available at Home Depot for a lower cost).The faucet and hose-end connections on the splitter were hand tightened without need for tools and none of the connections have leaked a single drop with a supply pressure of 60 psi. In my application, one branch of the splitter is left open to supply a high-pressure hose and  digital timer valve  for a drip irrigation system in the garden. The other branch of the splitter supplies a garden hose reel for general-purpose use and the valve must be frequently turned on and off. I should point out this configuration doesn't place any lateral strain on the splitter since the connections are not directly attached to hose segments that can be tugged while in use. Your application may be tougher on the splitter which might affect long-term durability of the product.The hose splitter hasn't been in service long enough for me to judge its long-term durability, but because of its solid build and brass material I'm very optimistic it will last for many years in the moderate climate of southeast Texas. I'm glad that I found this on Amazon and only regret I didn't look sooner. I'm very pleased with this product and enthusiastically give it a 5 Star rating.

I just started using this hose splitter, but so far it appears to be solid and there are NO LEAKS. Solid brass with ball valves. It was delivered with spare hose gaskets to make sure you have a leak free experience. It is great to be working in the yard or having a backyard fire pit and having a charged hose nearby. With my old hose splitter I would return to the hose faucet and water would be getting sprayed out and wasted! This hose splitter fixed the problem. The only downside is that these brass splitters have smaller valve handles so they are a little more difficult to operate. I wanted one of the splitters that had the large handles, but they were constructed with too much plastic and started leaking after a few months. This splitter has a T-shaped handle that is much easier to operate than the ones you see at the hardware store.***Update: Over a year later and the there are still no leaks. the ball valve still turns smoothly, and the plastic valve handle has not broken. Very satisfied and highly recommend! Upgrading to 5 stars!

Met my need for an extra spigot. One side was slightly dented and I was worried that it would leak but that it did not.

I've bought a number of these to aid in watering my many gardens. While I cannot attach two 100 foot soaker hoses end for end (to get enough pressure to get the water to flow to the end, I'd damage the beginning), I can use the splitter and do 200 feet at once which is important in these very dry years. The first splitters I bought had a stationary top. The top of these (where you attach to the faucet or the main hose) is designed so you can turn the black ring rather than having to turn the whole splitter. It may nor sound like much of a difference but it makes moving from sets of soaker hoses to other sets easier and quicker and I appreciate that. I've had the first two I purchased for over a year now and the quality is also much better than the original plastic splitters I bought. I don't think I'll be replacing them. (And they come with extra washers--also helpful).

This is the Granddaddy of them all! It is made just like the old day's products. You can see the superior strength in this 'Y', and the 'Non-Brass' parts are made of a material that is very, very strong. I've seen nothing like it! I have purchased plastic AND brass 'Y's' at Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, and Missouri Farmers Association....not one held up to its purpose.That is why I decided to try this 'Y'. As I removed it from the package I already saw and felt the tremendous difference.I run 50 head of Black Angus on my property. I do 'pasture rotation' for the cows. Every pasture has a well/water for the cows, but one.I have one hydrant to cover my outside/around the house watering needs. I had to 'share' that hydrant for the one field that did not have a well/water. The 'Y' is holding up to its 24 hour - 7 days a week responsibility to 'watering' the 50 cowsI love the big 'on-off' valves as I have big hands and I often have big leather gloves on. It's so easy to turn on or off the valves without taking my gloves off...that's a big plus !

leaks at faucet even after trying multiple gaskets. Piece of junk don't buy! Going to attempt a return.
