I tried different power supplies, voltages, and antennas. The antenna always had to be within 1/2" of the RFID/FDX-B chip to read and it was very unstable.

The media could not be loaded. Great little board. You'll need some basic soldering and electronics skills but had it reading a test chip 20 min after opening the box. Haven't followed the instructions to tune the supplied antenna yet, and it reads from 3" away.If you're having trouble getting any output, a blue LED on the board flashes when it reads a compatible chip to let you know at least that part is working.Highly recommend doing a proof of concept using an ftdi adapter before wiring it up to an ESP or Arduino.Came with clear instructions and advice for DC vs AC power supply and how to reduce noise and has an email to send questions. (Haven't had any yet.)
