Made Me Glad

I first became aware of Miriam Webster seven or eight years ago when I was flipping channels and landed on the Hillsong show on one of the Christian television networks. The initial object of my attention was Darlene Zschech, who was then Hillsong's worship leader and primary singer, and who is indeed a marvelous singer in her own right. But occasionally the lead fell to Miriam Webster, a slender, blonde, charismatic woman with a rich and soulful voice. She immediately captivated me, and I've waited a long time for a CD of Miriam Webster music. This is it, and I'm not disappointed.Although now transformed into a brunette, Webster still has that same, soulful voice, and she could hold her own against country/pop divas such as Wynonna Judd and Shania Twain. She's that good. (In fact, on some of her songs, Webster would strike a note or phrase that reminded me of someone, and I finally realized that that someone is Wynonna Judd. In fact, the melody of the albums'f final song - "Fall Upon Your Knees" - is reminiscent of Wynonna's "My Strongest Weakness". Thus it is fitting that this CD was recorded in Tennessee with some of the best studio musicians available.)Most of the songs on the album are written by Webster, and they're strong songs, often employing Biblical passages, which gives them a familiar quality. Webster does not strive for flights of poetry or cleverness or irony, but sticks to the roots of her evangelical and revivalist background. The musicianship is excellent, and so are the arrangements. Some of the songs have a full, contemporary Christian sound reminiscent of Hillsong, but without Hillsong's cast of thousands. Other songs are quieter, but there's not a skip-over song on the entire album.Miriam Webster has one of the most beautiful voices of our time, and deserves a wider audience. I hope this album will help bring her to that audience.

I knew what Miriam's voice sounded like and that is the reason that I purchased this CD, knowing full well thatit was bound to be pleasant to the ears and very good for the soul. First heard Miriam's voice on Hillsong/Darlene Zschech Cd's. I have bought ALL of Darlene Zschech/Hillsong CD's during her(Darlene's) time as worship leader. Will continue to buy Miriam Webster's CD's as they become available. She has a beautiful voice. If you love Darlene Zschech's voice... you will like/love Miriam Webster. :-)

This CD is powerful and enjoyable. The CD is bringing the message of Christ and is a great stocking stuffer. I first heard Miriam Webster on Praise Radio...sought out more of her work and opted for this CD. Love it....

This is one of the best cds I have ever purchased!Excellent Voice and songs, makes me fall on my Knees.I could not wait for this to come outand I was not disappointed.I would pay $100 for it.

Miriam Webster is so talented. Her songs are a blessing that you find yourself flowing in praise and worship. If you are looking for uplifting music, I highly recommend this CD.

I absolutely love this cd. There is not one song that I don't like. Great to worship. I can highly recommend this, and am difficult to please when it comes to worship music.
