Great sound mat for the price!
This is a good product. Many people go with KILMAT because of the value to price point. I did as well. When you clean the surface (in my case it was all painted metal) this stuff sticks very well. I do recommend you use a seam roller of some type, I used Lumiteco 3 piece roller set. This will help with adhesion and mostly flatten the overlapped edges. It also helps you see where you have rolled as it leaves little grooves. The difference when we had no sound mats and after was very impressive. We haven't finished our install yet and it is quieter than when we had an interior in the van. There are thicker mats available in other brands, but this will work great for our van build, but this helps keep the weight down. It is quality material, just be careful when you are removing the backing, the edge of the foil face can cut you. I suggest you layout where you are installing the mat and cut to fit. From what I have read, you don't need to cover every inch in the vehicle, just spot install for a big difference. I chose to cover most surfaces to help keep sound out when we are sleeping in the van. We haven't finished putting the van yet, but we have driven it around and been very satisfied with this product.

Awesome product!!!!
I recently purchased the Kilmat sound deadening mats, and they work exactly as advertised. The material is thick, durable, and easy to cut to size. The adhesive backing sticks firmly without peeling up, and the foil surface adds extra heat insulation. Installation was simple with just a roller, and I noticed an immediate reduction in road noise and vibrations inside the vehicle. It also gave a more solid feel to the doors and panels. Overall, this is a cost-effective alternative to higher-priced brands, offering excellent soundproofing and thermal insulation.

Exceptional Soundproofing Solution!
This polyurethane soundproofing material effectively reduced noise levels in my car, creating a much more pleasant driving experience. Installation was straightforward, and the mat easily conformed to the contours of my vehicle. The build quality is impressive, and it significantly dampened audio noise and vibrations, making my music sound clearer than ever. Moreover, the mats help maintain a comfortable temperature inside the car, even on hot days. I highly recommend KILMAT for anyone looking to enhance their vehicle's interior comfort and sound quality. This product truly exceeded my expectations!

You will be pleasantly surprised. Read the full review.
So if your buying this, you're either killing road noise in your vehicle, or installing a sound system in a vehicle. Let me start buy saying...is it as good as Dynamat? No. Its not...BUT.....please continue reading. Dynamat, at the time of this review, is 5x the cost of this stuff, and its NOT 5x better. its only VERY slightly better. And honestly, BOTH are Butyl Rubber, so the only thing that makes the dynamat better, is its a hair thicker. I bought 3 boxes of the stuff for around half the price of 1 box of Dynamat, and I would do it again. I am building an older mazda truck, and I put 1 layer on the inside of the door skins and roof, 2 layers on the back wall, and 3 on the floor and firewall, and its SILENT inside the truck. It stopped ALL the vibration, sheetmetal reverberation, and the drum effect from thin sheet metal. Its nice and thick, it cuts easy, and sticks well. A couple of pointers before you install it.... Vacuum out all the dust. you want the best possible contact from the rubber to the surface of the panel. Get the installation roller. You can do it without it, but it makes mashing it down a lot easier. Don't waste time fitting it like a jigsaw puzzle. I was trying to do that because I assumed it would give a better end result, until my audio installer friend came over and just told me overlap it and call it day. Its getting covered with panels, and the more weight from the deadener the better. Ended up taking all the little cut parts and sticking them on the firewall. This stuff doesn't look, feel, or act like a cheap "store brand knock off". Get a box and try it before you spend a fortune on "name brand" stuff that is the exact same material with a different logo. Highly recommended. Will buy more if I need it in the future.

VERY easy to install with the right tools, excellent results
The headline says it all. I used two boxed of these very thin Kilmat sound deadening mats to cover the inside of a 1981 Volkswagen Westfalia camper as I restore it. The difference was very noticeable, from the solid 'thump' of the doors (used to be a reverberating 'tinggg') to the engine noise in the interior (the engine sits behind the rear axle and is accessed from inside the Vanagon). This is a MUST DO if you have the opportunity to sound deaden a vehicle, not just a camper. I took off one star because although one box was fine, I had trouble with the second box. The paper backing would often tear during peeling and not pull cleanly off the deadening surface. I would then have to dig with my fingernail to grab ahold of an edge or corner and pull that pice off, a not-fun-process when you have a big piece of sticky mat in your hand. Why only the second box? Maybe that box saw too much heat at some point, or was older, or the backing paper was from a different supplier? Who knows. Wasn't a huge issue, but a minor irritant.

Sound and vapor barrier! Seals open areas great too!
This stuff works great and is easy to install. Definitely buy the roller set with it. You will need them! We still plan to do the walls as well but the picture will give you an idea of what it looks like.

Works Well
This stuff is great. It really helps to lessen vibrations in large metal panels (doors etc). It sticks quite well and with a set of rollers it’s not too difficult to apply. It’s easy to cut to shape with a utility knife so that it can fit anywhere in the car
