Great Radio
This is a great HT at a fair price. This is solid construction. The screen does go to sleep to conserve battery life, which took some getting used to, but I do like that function. Easy to program and easy to operate it. I use it for all of the ARES deployments I do. If I drop it or ruin it some other way, not to worry... it's a lot less expensive than my Yaesu FT3 was :-)73KG5OMX

Nice quality. Exactly as listed for RX/TX range.
The UV8H is exactly as described in the listing. Transmits within the HAM bands, but is receive only on the GMRS/FRS frequencies. Radio feels high quality, the screen is nice, and the dials are stiff, so no worries about turning it down accidentally. If you’ve ever programmed a Baofeng this should be easy to pick up and understand. It is not officially supported by Chirp as of 3/4/23 which is a bit of a bummer. However, you can find a Chirp module with quick google search, in beta, that will allow Chirp to work. There are also additional batteries sold by Wouxun that allow for USB-C charging too, which means I Can throw it in a glovebox and never worry about power. Overall if you can figure out getting Chirp working it’s a great little radio.

Great radio that can be your do everything!
Love this radio. Excellent build quality and sound. This can be frequency unlocked to cover those GMRS/FRS ranges if that is what youre inclined to do making it a perfect cover all your bases type radio. All the software worked on my Windows 11 machine with a baefong programming cable. The screen is beautiful. The CPS sofware is not as good as CHIRP but gets the job done. Though an official CHIRP module is close. Mine had an extra battery in the box though I am sure that is not standard.

Awesome radio
Good radio so far. If programming with chirp there is no kg-uv8h driver so I used the kg-uv935 driver.It seems that the settings tab is not working for this radio but the everything else seems ok. Would buy again.But next will be a dmr like an anyone 878.

Rugged, nice accessories, now fully CHIRP-NEXT programmable
Has everything I was looking for including optional AAx5 battery case and now fully programmable with CHIRP-NEXT. So far, works perfectly. Love mine. Buying another one soon.
