I didn’t want a big bulky monitor like others that are 7 inch. This is the perfect size for my needs and exceeded my expectations.

The build quality of this is pretty good, but the software side of things needs a lot of work. - Dropped frames at 4k, it stutters badly with what should be smooth motion (verified that it's not the camera with another monitor), it's OK at 1080p input. - Severe input lag at both 1080p and 4k, making it unusable as a monitor for anything but mostly static footage (verified that it's not the camera with another monitor). - HDMI cable that was included doesn't work well and disconnects constantly, one end is loose and touching the cable lightly causes it to disconnect. - USB doesn't work with camera for power, the camera thinks it's connecting to a PC for some reason (works fine with various power banks I have).

Why did you pick this product vs others?: For the money, this is a very good monitor for recording and using for anamorphic D squeeze

Got this for a Sony zv-1 so I could make art/painting videos without needing to worry about what was in frame. I don't love the menu but fortunately haven't needed it much.i f you have a camera that uses the on cam touch display to change the focus, then this display prevents you from doing that. It hasn't been an issue so far I just have to set it all up before connecting the exterior monitor. The case is nice but a very tight fit

The monitor is great especially for the price. My issue is with how Portkeys is distributing the monitor. If you go to the official website you'll learn that there is technically a PT5 V3 which has updated firmware and very slight hardware improvements. The confusing part is the PT5 V3 is still being sold as the PT5 ii. The only way to tell if it's V3 is by looking at the firmware. This would be fine if the PT5ii could be updated to the V3 firmware but it can't due to the slight hardware differences. Therefore, if you're purchasing the PT5ii I highly suggest reaching out to the seller first or purchase it directly from the Portkeys website.

Very well made monitor with a good screen size. Love the light weight and it's not bulky compared to other monitors out there. Was initially considering other brands but this one works as well. I did get a unit with some minor issues but the Portkeys team was great and I got a replacement unit in a few days. Kudos! Will look into the other monitors for future.
