The Gathering of Saffron Brand Saffron 1 Gram

again another first for me. Made seafood stew, can't spell the other word, the recipe called for saffron and honestly i did not see how such a small amount could make a difference; believe me it does. the scent coming off that broth and that hint of something different in the taste makes me wish i had splurged a little sooner. Oh and the hue it adds to the broth along with the smell is somewhat intoxicating.

I learned about saffron from my wife, the daughter of Italian immigrants who grew up making risotto rice with saffron and it was something she craved from time to time. Still does, in fact! So as the main cook here, I have been through several sources of saffron before coming across this product which is "a cut above" the competition in my opinion. A pinch of this saffron colors a quart of Arboreto rice with a beautiful golden yellow tint and gives it a subtle saffron taste only available with the real thing, genuine firm hand-plucked saffron like we purchased here. Thanks for a wonderful product.

Heavenly smell..seriously reminds me of smells in an old European church/cathedral (not the most visited ones). The tin is also really cute but reminds me of some kind of touristy product container from yesteryear…but I love that stuff.

Really good flavor and worth the buy

cute iddy bitty tin, but a little goes a long way. you just cant substitute anything else for saffron. I make a lot of international dishes and sometimes, you have to have the real thing.
