This device takes a very long time to charge itself up in the sun. Upon receipt, I charged it in the sun until fully charged and then used it to charge my phone. It did work on the first run. But when I went to recharge the solar charger in the sun again, it would not charge back up. I plugged it in and charged it electronically. It would not fully charge, and then it is very slow to charge up the phone. I gave it an honest try, and it just does not work as it should. Very disappointed considering the majority of good reviews. I returned mine. Would not recommend.

We are a camping and outdoors family. This means that we usually have a couple of ways to charge our devices and our sons devices at the end of a long hike or long day camping. We do have several solar options as well as alternatives that use solar or other form of natural energy to charge up everything. We had tried some solar chargers in the past and figured we would give this one a try. Here are some pros to this device:You can charge it by solar power or USBIt charges a Samsung S10 from dead to full in about 2 hours give or take.It has a bright light suitable for night walks to the camper, bathroom, or other area of your campsite.The light has a strobe and an emergency flashing option which is ideal for emergency prepping.The only con is that the device does take longer to charge up in the sun. However here is a tip for that.Charge the device by usb before you leave on the trip. During your hiking, camping, fishing, etc make sure to have the device attached to your bag so it can obtain the full amount of sun it needs throughout the day. Keep it on the outside of your pack while you hike. If you are camping in a well lit area, make sure the charger is in direct sunlight.The charger is impressive and well worth the purchase.

The media could not be loaded.  I’ve been a geek my whole life. It’s just who I am. Currently, my day job really leans into that, as I help people set up and activated their phones. It’s a cool job, but it has its hurdles.Since we get phones in by the truck load, sometimes they wind up sitting on the wall for months at a time before they are issued for replacements. In that time, sometimes the batteries go flat. Meanwhile, restoring can really draw out the battery.And that is quite clearly where this power bank comes into play. At 20000 mah it has enough juice to get me through even a long day of setting up phones. With 2 USB ports I can charge their phone, while topping mine off. Or charge their old one and the new one at the same time.I also really like the flashlight function since it makes it safer for me when going to homes after dark. I have a lot of appointments after dark, so that is really helpful. The compass is cool, but not something I really need or use that often.The clip I do though. It lets me hook it to my duty belt which is awesome. The solar charging is a good backup plan too.It’s very nice.As I do have to do setups outside, since we can’t go into houses anymore, I do them on the porch usually. Sometimes, it’s raining. This charger is IP65 waterproof. So it it perfectly fine in the rain, but isn’t safe for putting underwater. That is perfect for my needs.It is sturdy, and works great. It fills a need, and earns its place in my daily tools.

Works but do not use if you intend to fly on a commercial airliner.

I’ve had two solar chargers in the past, both of which took forever to charge (even in direct Southern California sunlight), and also drained quickly when I needed them. This charger both charges very quickly AND holds its charge long enough for multiple full recharges of my iPad and iPhones. Moreover, it also features a white light that emits a quite bright white light (sorry for the rhyming lol). I added this to my emergency kit, and I plan to order another.
