Wax seal sticks that can give you a quick and attractive seal with the right moulds
I have never previously considered using wax seals for invitations but it strikes me that it is such a lovely 'throwback' idea. Obviously I do not have the proper form of metal embossing stamp which I think would work very successfully with these wax seal sticks. Instead, I experimented with some plastic embossing tools just to test the properties of the wax.The wax sticks that I received were white and with an appropriate seal these would look really good against a coloured envelope. I found that the wax sticks fitted perfectly in my standard glue gun and the wax melted easily. This does seem to me to be a very convenient way of melting wax but I have saved all my failures and residue to melt in a metal spoon as I don’t want to waste the wax.My glue gun does not have a temperature control and my impression was that the wax was tending to overheat because there were lots of bubbles visible. Once I realised this I just turned off the glue gun every now and then to cool down.I found that I could get the best circular “blob” by putting the glue gun nozzle very close to the surface and pressing the trigger a couple of times. Then I just needed to be a bit patient and let the wax settle slightly before using my embossing tools. I left the embossing tool in the wax until everything had set but I was surprised at how quickly this happened. I found that the wax stuck firmly to paper and card but could be peeled off silicone and mirrored card. This meant that I could see how flexible and robust the resulting seals really were.16 sticks come at a price of around £11.98 and as a stick quickly melts through the glue gun this doesn’t make a cheap decorative effect. However, this product deserves a well sealed 5 Stars nevertheless because it's an innovative idea and I have a couple of old glue guns that can now be used just for the wax sticks.

Good Quality Wax Sticks - Ideal for Glue Guns
The x16 wax sticks come packaged in a carboard box which is ideal to store them in.They fit a normal size glue gun (not miniature size) but it best to use a glue gun that you can control the temperature on allowing the wax to melt slowly allowing you to control the amount of wax dispensed. If you don’t have a temperature-controlled glue gun it is worth letting the glue gun heat up and then turn it on and off every now so it doesn’t overheat the wax which may means it bubbles. I personally have a glue gun just for this use so you aren’t mixing glue and wax.The silver wax is traditional and fully opaque. I will personally be using them for wax seals Christmas card envelopes as a finishing detail and I would imagine these will last me a while.Using the sticks in a glue gun speeds up the process of making wax seals if you are doing a lot of them at once (e.g., weddings or at Christmas). The seals are strong but aren’t brittle in the same way that the traditional sealing wax is.At £10.98 for 16 sticks (at the time of writing the review) this works out at 69 pence per stick which for such a nice finishing feature I think is good value and I would recommend this particular brand.

Very nice wax for glue guns or melting in a wax spoon.
This sealing wax arrives in a white printed box with a small viewing window on the front & measures approx 9cm x 13.5cm x just over 2.It would be nice to gift if there wasn't a massive product sticker taking up most of the back & a barcode sticker stuck over the brand name on the front, both of which you can't get off without damaging the box.Inside the box are 16 sticks of sealing wax ready to be placed into a glue gun if that is how you prefer to melt your glue, but with a sharp knife you could also cut bits off to melt in a spoon & use them that way if you don't use a glue gun.The wax itself is easy to melt, takes a stamp well & looks fabulous. It doesn't crack easily even a few days later & it really sticks to the paper so you get a good seal.I'm really happy with this & busy creating seals to go on the bottom of certificates for children - but honestly, even adults tend to like things with wax seals on as they make them look just that bit more special. These are also great for invitations, letters 'from' Santa, cards & all sorts of other things.Lovely.

Exactly what I wanted
These work well with a glue gun and the advantage of using this method is that you get slightly more control. You do have to make sure the temperature setting is low as a high setting makes the wax bubble and leaves an unsightly effect. So I’m not sure using a standard glue gun where the temperature cannot be controlled would be advised.£11.58 for 16 sticks to me is fairly good value for money, considering a good few seals can be made per stick.I ordered the olive green shade which I love and when arrived is exactly the same as the image in the description.

16 x Wax seal sticks
So the description states this is a:-Wax seal stick, Vosypoky 16 pieces glue gun wax seal stick for wax seal stamp. Sealing wax sticks for wedding invitations, cards, envelopes ~ Champagne gold.I didn't know how this wax would leave my glue gun so I firstly tried it with a basic cheap gun, but found it was too hot for the wax.So I used these in my temperature control glue gun where I could use it on a lower temp and get it as I needed it.We had a personalised stamp made for the wedding, these worked well with the wax and the envelopes used. The price at the time of this review is £11.98, which works out to be 75p per stick, which can be costly but it really does set off important personalised items with the elegant rose gold stamp. So far so goodBut I will update this review if needed*** Detail's:-* Brand:- Vosypoky* Colour:- Champagne Gold* non-toxic smokeless* Tasteless* Quantity:- 16 sticksSize:- * 0.43" /11 mm Diameter* 5.31 inch/135 mm Length* Each stick can approximately make 12-15 seals* One pack can make about 192-240 seals
