I perm my 88 year old mother's hair for her. She has very short, fine hair and has had a hard time with them lasting more than a few weeks. She read that this type of alkaline perm worked better for hard-to-wave hair and so far she's been happy with it. It's probably been about a month. It did not come with pre- or post-conditioner, but she had some from a different set. I don't think it had papers either, so be aware of that.

It took 25 mins to get the 'S' curl for her hair.But it looks good and she loves it. I'll buy it again. I recommend this perm for gray hair and elderly, especially if they take high blood pressure meds.
