I bought this lamp for a corner desk in my master bedroom. I needed something that could bend over a laptop and wouldn't block wall art. This lamp was the perfect height and is very bendable into different positions. I love the remote control and the fact that you can change the type of light and brightness. I actually twist the light so it points up when I'm not at my desk and then it shows off the art!

Base keeps coming lose from pole, a terrible design. Could not get remote to work.

This lamp would be possibly good for a desk lamp. Not great for living area lamp. The light is too directional, not well balanced. We did like that you can bend the pole at the top to create a unique design, but that was about it. The remoter only works a few coot away, however would activate our TV menus across the room.. I am sure the TV Function was not advertised or intended.

This light provides a satisfying even illumination (devoid of hot spots) for me sitting in my favorite chair. I like the MIX and low intensity broad spectrum position for reading. It is solidly built with nice gooseneck articulation and the base screws on solidly with a thin DC cord plugging into it from the AC Adapter, so the cord is closest to the floor. Might be necessary to splice in a longer cord if your chair is well away from a wall outlet (be sure to observe proper polarity). The touch activated controls all work well and the remote (uses two AA batteries) also is great, but you need to point its optical interface at the light's console. I have no complaints for this slim and trim light. Hopefully it will encourage more book reading over internet surfing.
