I got this to hold my cross stitch patterns. I wanted something portable, lightweight, and with a small footprint. This is perfect. Bonus that it’s my favorite color. But definitely not sturdy or stable enough for large, heavy items like books.

Very light weight! I like that. And the color of the paint was very true to the pictures. It looks very cute on my desk and it's working nicely for me overall.However, there are some things about it one should know.A very thin/stiff paperback book will want to fall out. You'll either need to spend time bending the book into shape, or get extra clips/clothespins or similar to hold one edge of your book to the top of the frame.I also found the black rubber feet on the bottom book-holding part to leave slight dark marks on some of my pages. Don't take them off, as the metal tips alone can leave indentations in the paper. My solution was to cover the dark rubber feet with some washi tape that matched the colors of my book stand. It looks cute and works well for my purposes.The stand can also fall over easily if jostled. But for $5? It does the job. I'll keep using it. A lot of the nicer ones were $20+, so maybe someday, but this is great for tossing in my bag and letting me read during my work breaks.

However, if you are looking for a more stable and reliable book stand, you may want to consider other options.

This little guy is inexpensive and it really works! It holds my books open. It is very helpful. It was a very good buy.

This item would be okay for a smaller book. I ordered this for my bible and my bible is halfway sagging off the stand, it's messing with the spine of the book, would not recommend.

I bought this little table top stand to use as a music stand in a class where students are sitting at tables. It does the job well enough, and for the price it can't be beat.

lightweight and easy to use. takes up little space when collapsed.

bought this to use for full size soft cover textbook, works great. the footies at the bottom hold the pages. probably would be better with a hard cover textbook since the pages kind of fall off the sides with a soft cover.
