Perfect!
This is perfect for what we wanted it for. We live in a very rural area and have a lot of wildlife to include bears. We have a covered storage area that a bear broke into and caused damage. Bought this alarm; received it yesterday and installed it up in a protected area. Attached the pull cord to a large metal barrel. The Bear returned last night and triggered the alarm. The loud sound and flashing red lights scared him off. Easy to reset for continued use. Will order another one as a replacement when needed.

Very affective device!
This alarm does its job! Dad has dementia and is elderly with a huge fall risk. He gets frequently agitated and sometimes tries to leave his bed or chair. He really needs a walker and help getting up but is strong enough to exit his bed or chair by himself if he is really determined. This alarm attaches to the clothing near the shoulder. if he gets too high or far the magnet attached to the alarm disengages and the alarm goes off allowing us to get to his side to prevent a fall. Thankfully, when he fell before he didn't break anything, but we had a huge set back with him because of fear to the point where he was afraid to get out of bed for fear of falling again. This alarm signals us that he is doing more than fidgeting but rather trying to get up unattended.

PACEMAKER ALERT
When I ordered this I needed something that would help me know when my mother (who has dementia) would try to climb out of bed during the night. We have a very sensitive monitor next to her bed but she is so light she could climb out with very little or no noise. I looked at several bed monitors and decided on this one because of all the good reviews. What I did NOT see was a warning that came with the alarm when it arrived saying DO NOT USE WITH PACEMAKERS. I went back to the ad on Amazon and found it in the fine print on limited liability. Not in product description, not in reviews. I researched medical websites and found I could still use it but had to keep it a certain distance from the pacemaker. It does work wonderfully, as long as we can keep her from removing the clip from her clothing! I recommend this to anyone who has a need for it but avoid if the person you are using it on has a pacemaker.

A Simple Solution for a Very Serious Problem
My wife has Alzheimer's and cannot stand safely, but of course this doesn't keep her from trying. I have been using an alarm pad on her bed to alert me that she might be trying to move outside the guard rails of her hospital bed. Unfortunately the pad sometimes fails and at other times it seemingly goes off for no reason at all. This magnetic pull cord system has solved the problem at about half the price. I'm sleeping better now because I know the alarm will alert me when Rita moves away from the monitor and triggers the alarm. I can move to her bedroom in plenty of time to keep her from falling. It's a simple solution to a very serious problem. My wife hasn't fallen since I started using the secure patient monitor. Enough said!

Perfect for our needs
I ordered this product for my elderly mother who has moderate Dementia. I use the velcro to attach it to the side rails of her bed and it works very well. It has saved her from falling out of bed several times in the short time that I have had it! The round shape of the magnet allows it to pop fee from any angle, but is strong enough so that it does not come out too easily. I have had no problem with it coming loose unless she is actually attempting to get out of bed. I recommend this product if you have a loved one you need to keep safe from falling when attempting to get out of bed on their own.

Exactly what we needed. The alarm is noisy but is easily heard from any room of the house which allows us to work in other rooms while still ensuring father-in-law with dementia won't get up from recliner unassisted. Saw mentioned in another review someone having an issue using it on a recliner. We bought velcro striping with adhesive back and attached to the alarm and then wrapped the strip down between side of chair frame where it reclines in back and then back up to alarm--minor issued solved. Worth every penny as no more falls since buying this and a different alarm for the bed. For those looking for a bed alarm have found the motion sensor alarm is the best way to go.

wonderful product
This product was recommended by my dad physical therapist. My Dad has Alzheimer's and I was struggling to find the correct alarm system for me. When the therapist told me about this product, I decided to give it a try. It was less than $30.00 dollars including shipment I could not go wrong. Personally this product is a blessing and it works perfect. My Dad does not move around in bed that much , but when he gets up the sound is very loud and gives me enough time to catch him before he leaves his bed, or chair etc...... I place the alarm on the back of his cloth where he cannot see it. I could see there might be an issue for someone else, who is more aware then my dad and might remove it and that would be a problem.

clip to attach...
product does what it is supposed to do, although the clip to attach to clothing is similar to the old-fashioned suspender type clip and very difficult to attach to fabric of any weight. It would attach more simply to fabric the weight of a cheap bedsheet, but takes quite a bit of effort to attach to fabric like denim or a sweatshirt. The clip makes this hard to use, although if it is hard for me to attach to some fabrics it makes the clip almost escape proof when used by arthritic old fingers.
