Great boots, until...
... the first button fell off after five days of owning them! The boots are warm and soft (it feels like you are wearing a pair of socks with good sturdy soles) and a great, true-to-size fit (I am an 8.5 and I bought the 9 and it's perfect with a little room to add warmer socks when I need to), but the way the buttons are attached is nothing short of a joke. "Sewing" would be too strong a word to describe the way they are attached - they are kind of knotted on with a few strands of thick cotton. I have hunted high and low at home for a tapestry needle to reattach it using the thick thread but will have to go out and buy one to fix the button, and I expect I will have to do all the buttons to be sure they stay on.While it is not the end of the world and the boots will be wearable again, I shouldn't have to do it at all! My daughter bought a pair of the Emma 12" boots and next time I would go for them - customers deserve better than bits falling off the item after less than a week of owning them, no matter how much (or little) they pay. In my opinion, go for a boot without toggles and buttons - the simpler design, the better, in Bearpaw boots.

Warm but snug
I purchased these boots in the charcoal color this past fall. Overall I like them very much, but I do have a couple of issues with them.1. The charcoal color is not grey so much as it's a blueish-grey. I was expecting a darker color, maybe just a few shades lighter than black, and that is not accurate at all.2. These run small, for sure. I normally wear a 6.5-7 in shoes, but despite all the warnings on other reviews I ordered a size 7. The first few times I could barely get them on my feet, and could absolutely NOT wear even thin socks with them. They were almost to the point of pinching my toes when I wore them for more than an hour, but I happened to go into a sporting goods store where there were other sizes in this style available for me to try on. I tried on a pair of 8s and they completely slid around; given how very warm they are I knew if I wore a pair of heavy socks with these I'd overheat. So I decided to keep them and see if they'd stretch a bit.I've worn these probably 9 or 10 times since then and I'm very happy with how they've adjusted to my feet. The lining is very soft and warm, so when I do wear them without socks my feet don't get cold at all (it's been in the negatives here, so I've tried that out). Better, though, is that I'm able to wear thin socks with them when I want.I love the toggles on the side and think these are very cute, though I think I'd like them better in another color. I'd love them in a taller style, too. Maybe next winter...Oh, and the price here was terrific. I've seen this exact boot selling for $20+ more at brick-and-mortar stores, so I feel I've certainly gotten value for my money with these.

Not Pleased
When I opened the box I was excited. That is until further inspection I noticed there was a stain on the boot. I know what your saying, "Maybe it was a natural discoloration. No it was sticky. After inspecting the boots further I noticed one of the buttons was hanging on by a thread. I fixed it and decided to try them out for a day. Well I got halfway through work and didn't realize one of the buttons came off. Before leaving that morning I checked to make sure the others were okay. Long story short I sent them back. Funny thing is I own a pair of these same boots. Got them for Christmas from my sister. I did have a problem with the buttons being loose on those as well. Ended up having to take those to a tailor to fix. Cost me $4. They even secured the other button that I didn't know was loose. They are a nice but. In the future I'll stick to the ones I slide my feet in.

Cute but not as comfortable as other Bearpaw styles
Not crazy about this Abigail fit at all! I have several Bearpaw Emma style boots and they are not as comfy or warm as my "U" brand, but they are ok. This style is just not as comfortable to me. Way LESS shearling inside. They aren't awful but they are tighter across the top of the foot where the stitching is and there seems to be so much less shearling inside the boot that I can feel the stitching on the top of my foot in this Abigail style boot. These just have to go back and I will stick with the Emma styles when I need a pair and don't want to spend the extra bucks required for the "U" brand.Sizing runs true to me. I normally wear a 6 1/2 but I buy Bearpaws in a size 6. Not uncomfortable at all and within a few days of wearing them, they stretch some. In fact, the width stretches out too much! If I were to size up, they would be too big

Okay But Doesn't Wear Well
In 2010, I bought my first pair of Abigails. They were very plush and soft and warm, and I loved them. Unfortunately, a week into wearing them, one of the little triangular knobby things on the side came right off. I didn't wear them in any sort of abusive way, but *Plink!* off it went. I wrote back to the company, and they sent me another pair, albeit in a color I don't usually wear. So I am trying again. And guess what: *Plink!" off came one of the triangular knooby closure things again. While I am not slender, I do not have unusually-sized legs, so I am not sure what is happening here. But I am just going to suck it up and wear them.I bought another pair from Amazon in late 2011, and the same thing happened -- the triangular knob came off. I give up. Maybe this style just doesn't work for me, though I am mystified as to what I am doing wrong.

Bearpaw Aigail Boots
These are really comfy boots, but after wearing them for less than a week 2 of the togs have come off the boots.I have seen other reviewers saying the same thing but I was hoping they had fixed this problem by now !I will now have to find some thick thread which matches the colour of the remaining togs.I do think that compared to other similar suede and sheepskin boots that they are good value for money, but they really need to sort out this problem.I would return them but its so much hassle I probably won't !

what a bargain
boots are fantastic, purchased my usual size,as the lining is sheepskin you only need to wear cotton socks inside.reason for purchase is poor circulation in ankles & feet, sheepskin is ideal for warmth & comfort.delivery is excellent.

Poorly made
To all those who have bought these boots, beware! I too was very happy with mine when I first got them. The suede was lovely and thick, and they were warm and comfy. After about 10 weeks of wear, for a couple of days a week, the soles on both boots spilt right across. Bearpaw have been no help whatsoever, their customer service is useless. I would say that these boots look good for the money, but please don't expect them to last more than one season. As others have said, the production quality is just not there, with glue trails on the leather, toggles breaking (the elastic on mine pulled away), and cheap soles.
