very course, not suitable for anything. Just thrown in shipping box with no bag. Opened up the box and it went all over my rug, exspected it to be bagged.

I did not expect there to be a large amount of seeds, if its to be used as mulch or for composting, you'd think that the seeds would be removed somewhere in the process. I am still using it as needed, however I am having to go in and thin/remove the straw seedlings that pop up, and they pop up fast. If you don't mind that, then this should work well for you. But I likely won't be reordering due to this.

I placed this on the tops of my containers as mulch in my garden and I would never use it again. It sprouted and the roots chocked out my plants. This may work great for pet bedding but its a nightmare in the garden
