On receiving this hat the small was just a tad too large for me (it is 56.5cm size SMALL, I am 54cm), but it is such a sturdy cap and such a good price that a little shortening of the elastic at the back with needle and thread is all that is needed. The photos are of the quality of the hat (my model was a much bigger head than me so ignore the fit here). In general, the hat does an adequate job of shielding the neck and sides of the neck from the sun, the front of the cap comes out a fair and generous distance to shadow the face from a large part of the sun also. The material is of good neutral colour with a soft but thick cotton with no skimping on the stitching which is good all over. There is elastic at the back of the hat for a comfortable and more exact fitting, although this is not adjustable, for the price you can't complain. Also it would have been good to have air holes in the hat, as it is so well made it could get quite warm in use at times. I wasn't sure about the colour, I wanted neutral and this is really neutral and looks the part, as in, not OTT but just practical sun-wear. All in all a great and well made little hat.

If you are like me (whose head insects love to bite) then this will help. I don't like having to wear such head/neck protection in warm/hot weather, but it is a case of having to for me. This product is as I expected from the seller's advert, is all-cotton comfortable, and I expect to greatly benifit from its use.

Very pleased with it much better protection working in the garden than a floppy hat which does not shade your neck when bending down like this.OK so you do look like a Japanese soldier who will not heard the war is over, but darn good protection for neck and ears.

As we have a smallholding and an old tractor we wanted the sand colour to reflect the sun rays but we got the olive green one but it blends in more with the sceanary the hat was only a tad too big not enough to worth putting a tuck in he does have a big head. The last one we bought has been worn everyday most of the summer and has lasted about 5 years. They also wash well and the last one kept him cool all summer.

After reading the review I decided to order a small . SMALL ? My grandson has a space hopper and this cap fits it . 😂 quality is good but no size marked on it so I assume there is not a S,M,L fitting .it looks like it’s one size fits all and plenty material left over 😂 Can always put sticky tape round it in case it’s windy.

Everything is good about this hat except the sizing. My head measures 56.5cm, the hat is sold as Small (56-57cm) but it is a good cm or two larger. Would have loved to give more stars but for sizing.As other reviews have said, it can be adjusted with a bit of simple sewing but The Big Adventure Club should put a warning on the product and, perhaps, inform Highlander Outdoor that the sizing is overly generous.Otherwise, a good, comfortable and useful hat and I would recommend it (with the warning about size!)

the hat is fine. my husband uses it for gardening as he has to really avoid skin damage. it covers the back of his neck ears and forehead completely, which is great

The hats are good and the seller was fantastic at letting me return the first two I bought which were way too big and sending me back two size smalls. But the size smalls are still much bigger than stated they would be
