Buy this, it works!
The media could not be loaded. I don’t usually write reviews, but this time I felt I had to.Like many, I get frustrated with the negativity in reviews, so I’ll keep this straightforward.I built a new house and moved in October 2024. My home is entirely cooled and heated by a Carrier heat pump. Shortly after moving in, I noticed the outdoor unit made a loud humming noise when operating. Living in the country, I found this noise disruptive—it took away from the peace and quiet I value. After some research, I came across this sound-cushioning product. Installation took about 10 minutes, and the results were incredible. It reduced the annoying compressor noise by about 80%. While I can still hear the fan (as expected), the whiny compressor noise is practically gone.I’m completely satisfied with this product and highly recommend it if you’re dealing with a similar issue.

It does reduce the noise
Was thick material Velcro straps were a little strange because after making it tight not much surface is left leaving you to cut quite a bit off.Did reduce the humming to some degree and that is what I was looking for because it is right next to our window.I used extra duct tape ,not sure how that will hold up in Florida, but overall .I can say I am satisfied

Easy to install with basic tools
Easy installation on my compressor. I only had to remove a very small amount of material, which was a breeze with just a tape measure , straight edge and a utility knife. It was the perfect dimension for my 2 1/2 ton unit.

Not very universal, doesn't look like picture
Not sure how this is universal. You pretty much need to cut it up into a bunch of pieces and then it didn't block noise. Please look at your compressor before you buy. If you have all these wires and extra lines going into it, there's no way to get this to fit well. Even after cutting it into a bunch of pieces it's still hard to fit. Obviously I can't return it now that no I've cut it up (as instructions actually advise) so it felt like a complete waste of money.I first rated it 2 stars and I raised it to 3 because instructions say to wrap it in tape. So half a roll of duct tape later I did manage to get the thing sealed up, and it really did help quiet it down! So it did work.So why just three? Duct tape won't last 10-15 years like a compressor will. In fact reading reviews you see people talk about how duct tape on it only lasts about 90 days or so because you have sun, moisture, and a constant fan... So now I find out I have to take my ac apart and reseal it every 90 days? They don't recommend any better tape either, so maybe I can guess on another fancy tape that lasts longer? No where in the description does it point out that it depends on tape to seal it... It does not include said tape, and does not picture said tape, Nor does it in the manual or description tell you what kind of tape to use, and the tape most other users refer to using does not have a reasonable life.I would not buy again, I am not pleased with the manufacturer, I find the pictures and descriptions scandalously misleading, but it does quiet it down as promised.

Waste of time/money
I got this to help reduce sound of my outdoor unit for my 2 -year old 1 ton Carrier AC/heat pump. First, it’s very challenging to get wrapped around the condenser (wear gloves if you don’t want your knuckles torn up). Second, no amount of re-positioning (tried 3 times, twice according to instructions and once with top part over bottom part) makes a bit of difference on the decibels of the unit running. I took before/after readings with NIOSH decibel meter each time and there was ZERO difference made by this item. It also wasn’t the placement of the item since I couldn’t see any gaps between the two parts or at the Velcro closures, except where the copper pipes and wiring have to enter the unit. If this company thinks their item works, then I’d like to see the data, including on a variety of units, including the most common/recent heat pumps. Otherwise they are selling a $90 waste of time.

Made a very noticeable difference but USE LOTS OF TAPE
I actually bought this for my neighbors air conditioner compressor. It was so loud that we could not have a conversation on our back porch when it was on and could even hear it in the inside of our house. This sound like it made a substantial difference. It’s not silent by any means, but we can no longer here at our house, and it sounds like a normal air conditioner when we’re on our porch. I’m guessing that the reviews that say it didn’t work didn’t use enough tape. If you don’t feel every single gap you’re going to continue to hear noise. At first, I put some duct tape on the on the corner seams and it did not make a big difference. I than bought a roll of gorilla tape and use the entire thing to make sure that there were absolutely no gaps at all and it made a big difference taking the Decibel reading from 85 down to around 63. I highly recommend this if you are needing to quiet a noisy compressor but make sure you read the installation instructions and use lots of tape (I recommend gorilla over duct since it feels a little thicker)
