Don't purchase if you value your thumb.
That little guard device that's sold separately doesn't work on this. And to get just a regular slice on it is almost impossible. The Julienne blades lever is hard to adjust out of the way..so attempting to slice is a feat in itself because one hand is trying to hold the lever up to keep the Julienne blades out of the way....and whew boy, that freaking straight bade is sharp! I just about took the entire side of my thumb off. Save yourself the hassle. Its pretty but in no way is it workable. I would give this to my worst enemy.

Great product, but needs replaceable blade.
We use this everyday in our restaurant, my only complaint is the blade is not replaceable. This is the second one we've bought but would like the option of changing the blade out. It's expensive to replace the entire mandolin for a dull blade.

Arrived damaged
Product looked new but arrived damaged. The handle part was broken off. Also looked dirty/ dusty and the side with the ridged slicer blade looked warped. I hope someone didn’t order a new one and put their old used one back in its place and then returned it, looks like that could have happened. I put in a request to send item back and have them send a new replacement so hopefully the next one looks brand new and no problems or damages. I know these are great products in general and work great, I just got one that arrived damaged. Will put it to a 5 star review as long as my next one arrives in brand new condition.

Poor follow up
Requested to purchase guard that was not included. Got 1 response asking for a pic… I sent it, and no further response.

Same size as all the other Bron Coucke Mandolines
I do very much enjoy my mandolin. As suggested - I hang mine on the wall to protect the blades, but have found an added benefit to this storage method is that I reach for it more often this way. The cuts you can get with this mandolin are beautiful. After reading a ton of reviews, I decided to go the stainless steel mesh glove route. I have small hands, and I knew that accurately holding on to most pushers would be difficult for me (I also know myself well enough to know that I stand a high risk of getting cut on any mandolin). So (for me) it made since not to buy the version with the additional pusher. Both gloves and mandolin together are awesome - so fun. This is not a replacement for the food processor, but an extension of methods/results that you won't be able to achieve with the food processor. Yes - every blade can be taken off for sharpening. Even the crinkle blade which is riveted onto the removable bolted on plate below it, as is the straight blade onto the plate below it. Cons: 1. The julienne/comb blade doesn't raise up high enough. I Have found that I have to slightly place/wedge the adjustment handles insert/hole a tad bit off the stationary peg below it to get/keep the blades high enough to cut clear through. 2. The Bron Coucke box was very worn & torn, and it was obvious that it was done before it was packaged for shipping. Not very pretty if giving for a gift. That said - the mandolin was still in perfect shape. FYI: The actual size is 16.5"L x 5.5"W x 3"H.

This is probably the best mandolin on the market and also the most versatile. Great to slice super thin onion or ridged potatoe or French fries. It's advisable to use a safety glove or a carrier for the veg for slicing as it's razor sharp.

This mandolin is made of stainless steel on the thickness of which they did not save. It does not deform and is made very solidly. Very easy to clean. Stability on the table is not ideal and therefore dexterity will be required when working. I made to further sharpen the vertical knives. These knives are thin and designed to allow you to push whatever you're chopping through. But if you sharpen them, it will be much easier to push through. I fixed the sharpening of the wavy blade for the same reason. In my opinion, this blade has not been sharpened. I would like to thank Amazon Australia for their understanding and support. Addition... If you use only horizontal blades for slicing, then pieces of the product can get stuck in the vertical blades, even if you remove them and do not use them. This is a design feature of this mandolin. To prevent this from happening, you can only reduce the thickness of the cut.
