I am in Canada. When you say the calendar does not work do you mean that the watch will not tell you the date?

I'm in the central time zone and the watch gives the correct time, day and date. If you have a problem, 95 year old father-in-law, just set the watch in the window at nught and it will reset its self.

Does it say time, date, day, month, year every time you press the button?

Push once for TIME. Push again for DAY, MONTH, DATE, YEAR. push again. Push again for ALARM TIME, ON/OFF, Push again for UPDATED USA TIME. Also, this watch is not water proof according to info, but my wife's has been in the shower twice temporarily and still ticking after a month. Don't try it on purpose, tho. We got lucky. As on reviewer says, it is not loud, but I can hear it fine if there is not a lot of extraneous noise.

Does this watch updates itself if you live in Canada?

The watch updated signal from Colorado of USA (in a circle of 2,000Km). If you live around the signal area then it is OK to get the signal otherwise the watch do not update signal.
