Specific product: strong hold (not just regular); beard time: 9 months of growth with minimal trimming; beard length: about 3+ inches at longest areas; length of product use: about 2-3 weeks. Other beard-specific products used/tried before this one: Caveman oil and balm patchouli scent; Honest Amish beard wax and balm.The Urban Nomads product smells and looks like thick cake frosting that is vanilla. It even has sucrose listed as the second ingredient!! This stuff works for me because it keeps down the "twangers" that I have that some people call fly-away hairs. This product does not weigh down my beard and does not "feel" like I have a clump of goo on my face all day long. When I touch my beard it feels thicker because this product makes it a bit stiff (as it should). This product does the best job for what I've tried to keep my beard calm and more professional looking for what is otherwise a somewhat un-tamed beard. I apply it after a shower and follow the direction to both rub it all the way into my beard and also to be sure I get the top hairs coated to keep them down as much as possible. I will also then run a comb through it to evenly distribute it and then possibly just brush the top hairs to re-flatten them. It does feel a bit "heavy" at first but then as my beard dries it looks very nice, not oily and stays fairly calm the rest of the day even after touching it many times. The smell is not very strong to me and is fairly mild. Like I said, it smells like cake frosting and looks like it to me and my wife but goes into my beard just fine and looks very nice. I'm a fan for now and will be using the entire 2 oz. jar even though I probably would like a little more of a "woodsy" or "manly" smell...however, I can get some cologne for that!

This is definitely a top 3 beard balm/wax. I also have Prophet beard balm and Honest Amish beard balm and the oil. All 3 are great but the scent of Urban Nomads is the best. The wife loves the smell and that's a plus but it is also a versatile product in the sense that after applying and sculpting my luscious mane any leftover can be applied to do your hair. I suggest you use a little bit to get started and if you're not satisfied then you can just apply more for a stronger hold. I have been rocking a beard for over 5 years now and I have used oils and balms, trust me when I tell you that Urban Nomads is amazing and if you have it in your cart buy it and if you are new to beard balm or you may want to try something new, grab it. I have been using this on my beard for a week now. I use an amount about the equivalent of an M&M, warm it up by rubbing it between the palms of my hands, and then rub it into my beard. It makes my beard look white(r) initially, but after just 15 seconds or so, you can't see it anymore. You can smell it though. The vanilla scent is very noticeable. Smells good. My wife likes the smell. I don't think anyone could smell it after 30 minutes though.This product has been more effective than beard oils, beard balms, and the Smooth Viking Forming Cream - more effective at enabling all the beard hairs to go in the direction I want them to go. It provides some hold throughout the day, but not the kind of hold that leaves the hairs feeling hard and crusty. I'll usually comb it a couple times throughout the day.So, I recommend the product. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish it had a stronger hold - one that initially forced the hairs to go where I want a little bit more and one that held things in place for the whole day.

First one I ordered the cap was chipped in two big sections. The box had no damage, but there was chips of plastic in the product. Amazon immediately replaced it for free. Love Prime. The replacement was perfect.My impression of the product is that it smells nice, a little like coconut to me more than anything. A subtle pleasant smell, not perfume or overly scented.It has a very easy to work with texture for a strong hold beard product. I've used them all and have found Grave Before Shave to be my favorite and go to all around beard product, but it leaves my beard wet. This Best Beard Balm & Wax Strong Hold leaves my beard dried out. It does not feel conditioned or sticky. It's a bit straw like actually. I think combining this with a little beard oil or beard balm might help.That being the case, the product does hold the beard in place. It's probably the best beard balm that I've used to do this. None of all, I mean all, the other product on the market hold my beard in place as easily as this. Grave Before Shave wax does a fantastic job of holding my beard in place, but it's straight wax not a pliable balm.I'm unsure if I'll use this instead of GBS because of the price. It's too expensive to justify using daily for me.So I like it, I don't love it, but its far better than most other beard product out there.
