As a larger, puffed-up version of Bobo, Puffer Fish panicle hydrangea has white fluffy blooms that engulf the entire plant, nearly obscuring the foliage. The flowers open as a beautiful, pure white bloom, and as they age, turn lime green with a fresh sprig of white flowers blooming at the tip of the panicle. Puffer Fish has a tight, compact growing habit with upright stems strong enough to hold its voluptuous blooms all season long. AMAZING!!
I purchased this “puffer fish” hydrangea in May 2023, it was amazing the first year; I pruned it way back to 3-4 inches from the main trunk because last summer the blossoms hung to the ground, they were huge and lacked support…. Here is 14 months since purchase. Still in a pot until I see how big it will get, but again, HUGE flowers, survived freak heatwave temps over 100 with zero damage (Oregon coast typical is 65-70). This is my new favorite ❤️

The last picture shows how they were before I planted them, March 23rd about 3 days after getting them. The others are around June 3-6. The are doing great!!! I use the app Planta that tells me when to water etc. I’m in zone 8a Texas.
