Updated maglite.
Products arrived today, 25 Sept 2023. I have installed the new LED in a 3C cell Krypton (circa 1999, I think) bulb and a 2D cell Xenon (2020 version roughly) bulb Maglites. Improved the light intensity dramatically. The LED bulb installs and functions in the 2D cell Maglite, contrary to the packaging statement of it being for 3-6 cell flashlights. The LED installed easily using the existing collar for the 3C cell Maglite but for the 2D cell maglite, which uses the 2 needle-prong Xenon bulbs, you will have to use the new supplied collar as the existing collar’s hole diameter won’t fit the LED bulb. You will also have to take out the white plastic adapter which holds the 2 needle-prong of the bulb. Will be interesting to see how long the LED last.Light intensity, as mentioned, is dramatically increased and even with the batteries low on power, it is still bright to be useable.I did not use the new lenses, as the current lenses on both Maglites are still good to go. Good buy and worth it especially with the supplied collar and spare lens.Delivery was excellent as it arrived 4 days earlier than the targeted day.

Good LED replacement for use in a Maglite
Good LED replacement for an old Maglite with an incandescent bulb.Easy replacement. Remove old bulb and replace with new LED bulb. The included collar seems to be the same as my existing old collar, but I replaced it anyway. I didn't realize that my old lens was so dingy, so I replaced that too with the new lens included in the kit.Big difference for the better. To be honest, the nominal 350 raw lumens in the Maglite is not the brightest flashlight that I have. But it is brighter and whiter than the old incandescent bulb (even though I think I had the 'upgraded' xenon star bulb in there, which is an upgrade in brightness and whiteness over the OEM krypton bulb from Maglite). The kit has changed my old Maglite from a never really used anymore item to something that will get some use now. Some tech details. The LED is definitely whiter and brighter and does draw a little bit less amperage than the old incandescent bulb.Although the package label indicated that the LED was for use in 3-6 cell Maglites, the LED did light up with 3.0 volts from a bench power supply (nominally what 2 alkaline cells would supply). The item listing does say that the LED will work for 2-6 cell Maglites. The light output did seem a little bit reduced compared to the output when driven with a higher voltage (4.5 volts, the same as 3 cells, and 6 volts, the same as 4 cells). The current draw is much higher with a lower supply voltage, but the input power (watts) was pretty constant at ~3.5 to 4 watts. So more cells gives you the same light output but longer run times than less cells. Those measurements also indicate that the LED bulb has some power regulation circuitry inside it and it is more than just an LED in a metal body.On my 4-D Maglite, I measured 0.7 amps with four brand new Energizer Max batteries and 0.67 amps with four rechargeable 1.5v regulated lithium ion D cells. That should result in run times greater than 10 hours with either battery option. Pretty good for an 'old' flashlight. 👍All in all, I like it. Recommended 👍

Perfect upgrade for an halogen bulb
I have a 2D cell Maglite that was a gift. It's purple and I love it. But the original bulb was so dim. This is not only MUCH brighter but it comes with a replacement ring to hold the bulb in place. Plug and play, flawless installation. It is bright enough that it rivals my 3D cell LED Maglight. Very impressed.

Good Upgrade (but not as bright as advertised)
Summary:Way better than an old incandescent bulb, but brightness will be less than advertised if you have a smaller 2-3 cell Maglite!Details:If you have rediscovered an old Maglite that still has its original dim/yellow incandescent bulb and somehow hasn't been destroyed by leaking alkaline batteries, this is definitely a worthwhile upgrade! My 2D Maglite already had an older LED bulb rated for 140 lumens, so I bought this to give it a bit more brightness. Unfortunately, the brightness appears to be similar to the old module (100-150 lumens), instead of the advertised 350 lumens. (tested two Litt bulbs, same result)Since this bulb is listed as working with 2-6 cells, I suspect that you need a 6 cell light to get the full advertised brightness (as more cells = more voltage). If that is the case, it would be great if that was stated in the product description. The best 2 cell Maglite upgrade I’ve found so far is sold by Malkoff Devices. They aren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for with build quality and brightness!

Great KIT to upgrade a Maglite
I used this LED to replace a "Chinese" LED (junk??) in a 4 "D" cell Maglite (I purchased the Maglite many years ago at Lowes on sale for $10!!). I installed the "Chinese" Led 6 or 7 years ago. The "Chinese" LED was purchased at HD. This is a quality kit and the LED is much brighter than the "Chinese" LED. It is NOT soft white (it is advertised @ 6K Kelvin and I think that is true). This is a quality kit with quality components and it very well packaged and is a very good price IMHO considering the quality). The only problem I had was removing the plastic coating on the lens without scratching the lens. This is a very complete kit with the inclusion of the lens. I moved the "Chinese" LED to another Maglite 4"D" cell Maglite which still had the original bulb. Hate to throw Maglites away. They are such great quality and new ones with LEDs are NOT cheap!! (I have other flashlights that have LED also). Just my 2 CENTS!!
