It is not a rug. Think bathmat. It's like a big giant bathmat. It's kind of spongy when you step on it and It has little grippy things on the bottom not the rough woven tweed like you'd expect of a rug. Looks great though.

Don’t buy it!
The printed picture quality is horrible at best and the way it was packed left it stretched and wrinkled so it will not lay flat.
