Added this in both my eflite f16 80mm for much better performance over stock system. Also upgraded my tiny 80mm freewing mirage 2000 with this motor, she now hovers at half throttle. Though 2200kv my packs have been coming down with the same temp as the stock fan units.

A very powerful ducted fan which I am using to make a wind tunnel. Perfect for the job!

First time I bought an XFlY EDF and am not regretting it. Flying multiple jets with different brand EDF's and this one is performing as good for a better price. XFLY is the EDF to go now for me.

Overall this is a good unit. It’s lighter than most stock edf units, and it works well. I bought this to upgrade my E-Flight F-16 because I am on a mission to get a 1:1+ thrust ratio. However, no matter what I did to this EDF, it just wasn’t able to produce enough thrust to maintain a positive vertical. I tried everything you can think of, even shoved 125 AMPs through the thing with no luck. Most people probably aren’t looking for that kind of performance, but I ended up going with a 90mm instead that produced 8.4lbs of thrust and it only weighs slightly more than this unit which produces probably 7lbs of thrust. (F-16 weighs roughly 7.5lbs) In theory this unit if it actually produced the 3,400g of thrust it would have worked, but im not sure if it does or not. That could be due to my planes design, or other factors, I was testing the thrust by holding my plane vertical and adding full throttle but no matter what I did it couldn’t hold itself in the air, just like the stock edf unit that came with the plane. I tried different tube designs, adding timing, different nozzles, literally anything you can think of, I guess I’m just expecting too much from a little 80mm. It’s good, but if you’re trying to make a 7-8lb edf jet have more power, then I’d recommend something else. If you’re shoving this into a lighter plane or smaller plane then I could see it’s potential, probably a bad decision on my part, did not fit my application well.
