Pro: I wanted a wood one, not plastic, and this is made of German Birch. I went by the size recommendation and it suggested that if my shoe size was in-between that I should go with the smaller one. I just got it so I can't comment yet on how well it stretches or how long it takes as I have several different shoes that will need this tool. It's only ONE and I guess I didn't understand that when I ordered it because it was expensive. It does come with various metal plugs that are supposed to assist with specific areas of your shoe to aid in tight spots so that is appreciated. I haven't done anything with those yet, as I'm still testing the effectiveness of the tool for length at this point. I'll update this if the seller and Amazon allows it once a week or so goes by. It comes with an instruction booklet that cautions you to read it before you attempt to start opening the various positions. It helped and had a few simple diagrams also.Con: I find it difficult to turn the black hook thing and holding the rest of the shoe in position while at the same time trying to turn and keep it in the same position! I'm a senior and have arthritis in my hands with minimal strength due to that. I'm sure that is probably not as difficult for younger non-injured adults so again, I must see how that plays out after I see the results. I will update and change the star rating accordingly, if allowed to review it later.UPDATED: July 12, 2025 Well, it was on sale on Prime Day so I purchased another one exactly like this one! It didn't take long for my left shoe to stretch out the length, width, and even the vamp on my Clarks fabric shoe so I now have it in the right shoe while I wait for my 2nd purchase to arrive! Happy enough to buy another one on sale so I can do my other shoes all at once. Moving it up to 5 stars even though I haven't needed those metal plug-in attachments that came with it yet. Assuming that the one on the way will be exactly the same quality, I will rate it as a 5 Granny Gems!Updated again on July 14, 2025: Yay!! Arrived today and I immediately used my two stretchers on my new plastic type shoes that are gold, Mary Jane styles I bought at Nieman's Rack on sale. These work really fast! I used the various metal plugs this time and it really lifted the center part of the vamp well, which is exactly where it was too tight. This is important because I didn't need to stretch the entire shoe in the width at all so I'm excited this product has so many holes in the wood with the included plugs. Seriously, I no longer think these are expensive at all. Just buy two of them if you're like me and don't want to wait for a pair of shoes to be comfortable again! Great value!

Easy to use. Works efficiently.

Seems to do the job--but seems a little overpriced for what it is. It works fine for Men's size 10.5 (my size) but it's getting close to the max width limit it will adjust to at that size. My experience with other brands of these is that they often run smaller than they are labelled--so I ordered a larger size (XL). Note that the description said the XL could handle size 13.5-15 but it may turn out to be too small for some of those sizes...

Why, for all these years, have I squeezed my feet into shoes that were too narrow in the toe box? This is such an easy solution! I wish I had had it 20 years ago, it would have saved me so much suffering caused by too tight high heel shoes.The shoe stretcher is solid wood, heavy duty metal (iron I think,) and modify-able. Will last a life time. LOVE THE BUNYON stretchers!

I mostly needed to stretch the length of the shoe. I bought just one because it works on both the left and right shoe, so I could save some money by working on one shoe at a time. I discovered a trick: put the shoe stretcher in, make it snug, then put it in the sun. The sun warms up the plastic and leather, and makes it easier to stretch. I leave it in overnight, so the shoe cools in the stretched position. It worked beautifully.

I purchased this to loosen up a new pair of shoes that was just a touch tight. Worked great! It has separate controls to push the shoes to be a bit wider and a bit longer. Not much - but enough to make my shoes comfortable. Sturdy and well constructed device.

Not the greatest thing in the world. Comes in only 1 shoehorn/stretcher. It has worked on a couple of my shoes. I did not use it in conjunction with any sprays or chemicals. It worked pretty well on one of my shoes. I had to leave it on overnight for each side for the pair. Best to let it sit for a weekend, plan ahead. Letting it sit for a few hours will make about an extra mm of room to squeeze in, but you can feel more wiggle room when left on for longer. As a few others have stated, the construction of the of the device isn't solid. Sometimes it feels loose or the handle will not swivel correctly. When it does start to tighten you can see the edges bulge out and can feel the wood.

Even with otherwise great fitting boots, I often have problems with my pinky toes rubbing. While the product description says this isn't for boots, it has worked great on my hiking boots. It wouldn't work for tall boots, but for standard height, above the ankle boots, it works fine. This is an inexpensive, high quality solution and I wish I had gotten it much earlier - it would have saved me many blisters.
