Kingston Brass KB1798TXBS French Country Widespread Kitchen Faucet with Brass Sprayer, Brushed Nickel

I had to replace a kitchen faucet. Finding a faucet that would fit my installation was the first challenge. I required 5 1/4 inch spacing which limited my selection options. Faucets that would fit were over $300. I found the Kingston Brass unit at a third of the price and saw ALL of the reviews were good. When I received the faucet the box weighed a ton. I looked over the components and found everything was heavy brass with precision fit. I was impressed! The old faucet was a popular brand. The way the old faucet was designed made uninstalling a chore. The components were rusted and the plastic pieces were falling a part. Is it any wonder why this old faucet began leaking after four short years of service. Installation of the Kingston Brass faucet was a snap. The hoses were heavy reinforced with quality fittings and gaskets. The finished installation worked great. The sprayer unit pushes a nice heavy stream which is great for cleaning and rinsing. I believe this faucet will provide good service for years to come. Having to do plumbing repairs is not my favorite chore. I plan on replacing all my faucets with Kingston Brass when the time comes to replace them. Outstanding quality at a great price that looks great and works great, need I say more. Don't waste your money on the garbage being offered at the big box outlets. You will not find this quality.

Having installed many faucets of various types over the years, I can say this one definitely impressed me, especially for the price. It is not cheap and lightweight, but hefty with plenty of brass and outstanding craftsmanship. Installation was routine - taking the old one out was more of a chore as mineral deposits tend to fuse parts together. The looks are outstanding, although be aware that the color is a quite dark coffee-brown. Given that it's new, I can't speak about the durability of the valve cartridges, but I am in the kitchen a lot so I expect to replace them every 4 or 5 years anyway. Some reviews noted the low pressure, but that's probably due to the aerator in the spout. Try removing it's restrictor (the round plastic piece with the hole in the middle) and see if that helps.

It took awhile to get a plumber in, but once here it took him 30” to install. I love the look! Can’t comment on function yet as it hasn’t been in use long enough, however, it’s heavy and solid. And that’s a good thing! September evaluation...has a few glitches that I’m not wild about (a clicking sound when I turn on the hot water) but doesn’t seem to effect function. Yet. Other than that, it’s ok. If I knew about this before I might have rethought the purchase. 1/27/23 update: Unfortunately this has ended up being a piece of trash. Squeaky handles..very annoying. When using the sprayer function, the main faucet, instead of being blocked, continued to pour our water. Very nice looking but as far as functionality...trash.

August 2024: works fine still *** IF WATER SLOWS/STOPS RUNNING FROM ONE OR BOTH SIDES *** This faucet has run smoothly with no leaks. However, the gasket in the faucet cartridge assembly of the “hot” handle, either arrived unseated, or somehow became unseated, shortly after I installed it, making it seem as though the hot water supply had been completely cut off. If the hot or cold water suddenly stops running after your install, Start with checking these faucet cartridge gaskets. The faucet has worked great since I re-seated the faucet valve’s gasket. Review: I purchased this $180 faucet from the Amazon Warehouse, for a little over $20. I believe the reason for this surprising price would be that the ceramic “cold” cap on the right faucet lever arrived cracked. Still - while appearance is always a matter of opinion - I have been surprised by how much nicer this faucet looks, than the old cheap plastic one I had, and how much it improves the overall look and feel of my kitchen! The four bases - for the faucets, spout, and sprayer - have built in O-ring seals in contact with the basin. I greased these O-rings slightly and so far, the four components have been effectively sealed and leak-free WITHOUT the use of putty or silicone. My kit also came with new gaskets for one’s existing faucet connectors. The only installation note I’ll add - for fellow amateurs - is that you’ll either need another person - or some other method - to hold the hot and cold faucet handles in place, while you secure them from the top. I didn’t have another person available, so I used a thin chain (the ones the type available at Walmart for $5 - to hold potted plants from the ceiling) to hoist the lever assembly from beneath sink, through the hole, before supporting it (with a hook somewhere above the sink), while I threaded the base enough to prevent the lower part from falling back beneath.

My old cast iron sink is 36 years old Needed to replace the kitchen faucet. This Kingston is just perfect. It is so well made. Brass fittings. Heavy duty. You won’t find this quality in a big box store. Especially for this price. I don’t buy junk and this IS NOT junk. Don’t hesitate. Buy it you will LOVE it. So happy with my purchase. No leaks. It’s snug fit. Make sure you use washers underneath to snug it down. Beautiful chrome. Can’t stop looking at it.

This looks nice and is working fine, but the hot water handle keeps coming loose and constantly has to be retightened with an allen wrench.

We basically replaced like for like. Our sprayer hose failed, and the original faucet, now 10 years old was looking its age. Replaced with the identical 4 piece Kingston Brass set. The new escutcheons were smaller (and I was aware of this). Install was difficult as the original escutcheons were corroded and thus had to be cut off...All in all, this product is tens times better than most everything out there. Apart from the escutcheons, it is 100% brass. Good diagrams, part lists and how-to info available on the Kingston Brass website.

Will never buy from this company again. I am Canadian and purchased on Amazon.ca but Kingston Brass does not offer a warranty on defective parts to Canada. Buyer learn from my bad experience

Beautiful, so far no issues but knocking off some stars as I was expecting the color to be more like the image brown black bronze instead this is a really light brown. I settled on this one because I couldnt find black and ordered thinking it was dark enough to blend with my black hardware. But gorgeous enough that I decided to keep it anyways
