Great veneer!
I have restored furniture before, but this was my first time using veneer. I bought two rolls for my project. I unrolled them and let them sit to let the rolling relax. This made it easier to work with. Both my rolls came with the 3M glue backing. The first picture is the "before". It is a mid century dentist cabinet produced from Hamilton through the American Cabinet Company. The veneer was far too gone to save. I used a heat gun and scraper to remove the old veneer. I then sanded, and put on several layers of paint followed by a top coat of polyurethane. The purpose was to make as smooth a surface as possible for the 3M glue to adhere to. This worked great. The glue stuck immediately and I've had no issues with delamination. The second picture is the veneer before stain. I used walnut stain. I'm very happy with the results and would happily use this product again. The last picture is the completed project.

Great self-adhesive Wood veeners
Overall I loved the PSA walnut veener we purchased. I had zero issues with adhesion, it was easy to cut to size, and after pre-staining it took the stain we chose perfectly. We ordered 2, 2' ×8' rolls. The only downside was one roll was stripped and the other more knotty in pattern. I lived both just fine but for the panels we were making for a faux beam it would have been nice to get complementary rolls.

Grade C with old adhesive
Edit: after applying finish I am completely disappointed this is the ugliest walnut ive ever seen, flat color and zero chatoyancy. Ill have to remove the veneer and start over. Total waste of money Old glue and low quality veneer. Had voids, worm holes and very poor color.

Very good. My piece came with 3M PSA in the back. I is also a very good quality. I dropped it one star because of the order it admits. It had a very sharp order strong enough for me to air it out in the barn. The order had a "chemical" smell. Maybe left over from processing.

Nice product
Sticky back does not go all the way to the edge of the wood. You lose about 1/8" along each edge.

Fairly easy for a novice to use
I really like not having to apply an adhesive to the back. The product looks nice on my project

Garbage
This 3M backing was complete garbage! I spent $300 on this vaneer and when peeling off the paper backing half of the glue came off with it. I had to glue this on which defeated the whole purpose of the 3M backing. Bought some from Edge supply and no issue with the glue peeling off. I wouldn’t waste money on this garbage unless you plan on gluing it on.

3M Adhesive Backing Defective
This time the walnut 2x8 veneer had beautiful grain, HOWEVER the 3M psa had numerous folds and bubbles running the full width. The adhesive was questionable and may not adhere to my project months from now. I have ordered from this company in the past without problems. Now I wonder about their quality control as the problem was clearly visible before shipping.
