Great in daily use so far, but quite spendy considering alternatives
Satechi Pro Hub Max Adapter: $99.99 at the time of review I have been using Macs at work for a while now but I just recently upgraded to a MacBook Pro 14” from a 13”. The main difference here (as far as this dock is concerned) is that the 14” has the new MagSafe 3 power slot. My old Anker dock for my 13” didn’t fit without blocking this port. So I set out to find a dock that didn’t block it. *What I liked*: There is a great range of connectivity on this dock from Satechi including a 1Gb ethernet port (something that isn’t common to side-mount docks like this). It is more than enough for my needs. The 100W power passthrough is clutch if you’re not using the Mag Safe to provide power (though one of the points of this dock is that you *can* use the MagSafe 3 with it). There is a little plastic 3.5mm dongle that flips out to provide extra stability when plugging into the new 14” & 16” models. Despite near constant use, it doesn’t get particularly warm, even in periods of heavy power draw from the laptop. *What I didn't like*: The first and biggest complaint that I have about this dock is that, at $100, it is nearly 50% more than other similar docks. Some may not have ethernet and others still may block the MagSafe port, but those are acceptable flaws to save $30-$40. Another thing that is a little weird to me is that this dock replicates most of the ports that Apple put *back* on the new 14” & 16” models of MacBook Pro. For me it’s about leaving the cables at my desk plugged into one thing (the dock). But it’s not like SD card, HDMI, and Thunderbolt ports are selling points on this any more. *The Bottom Line:* Despite my nitpicks above on price and repeated featureset, this is a very competent dock. I’ve been using it as a daily driver on my work Laptop for the better part of a month now and I’ve had no trouble with it. Due to the high price, I can’t give this top marks. But I feel comfortable at a solid four stars out of five. Not only would I order it again, I’ve started sending it out (I’m in charge of equipment ordering for my company) as the de facto dock for employees with MagSafe 3 MacBook Pros.

Makes Macbook work better
Not sure why Camera Quality or Charging Power is part of the rating on this review, because they aren't really applicable to the review. However, I had to rate in order to review. This adapter is the same color as my space gray macbook pro, which is one of the reasons I got it. There was no USB port on my macbook pro, so I needed this adapter. It's small, compact and works as intended. It has several different types of adapters in it, and all the ones I have tested work seamlessly. This doesn't work with a bottom protector on the macbook, but it does work with the top protector. Highly recommend to make your macbook pro more compatible with all your tools

Doesn't work the best with cases
It works really well! If the laptop doesn't have a case on it. Otherwise it's a little janky. But it does work well, and it's easy to store and bring places!

Best available as of Nov 2022 for 2021 M1 MBP - Edit: Wait.
I bought this because it is the only flush-mounted hub whose use won't make the magsafe port, the headphone port, or both, inaccessible. Well, it does cover the headphone port but it provides its own. That said, it is quite pricey, and I feel at that price that at that price it should sit level with the surface of the laptop. Update: This hub gets much hotter than an Anker hub that I tried, so I would suggest either using a different hub or waiting to see whether anker will come out with their own. The more heat it gives off when idle, the likelier that it’s wasting your battery. I’m returning it.

Super cool flush mount
Flush mount with audio jack depending on model. All the ports your Mac needs.

The fit is ok, and the inputs I have tried out work properly, until last week: usb-c input died.
This is the first of its type port extension device for my newer MacBook Pros, and I jumped at the chance to not need a dongle with a box on the end of it to utilize many of my peripherals. However, after using it, I found that the extra hdmi port and SD card reader it has are not too useful, and I am still not able to plug in the all of the usb type c devices to do my work. If you need two monitor outputs and 2 SD card slots, go for it. But if you are looking for more usb ports, it is probably best to wait until another vendor develops a competitor. Update: Last week during a trade show doing demonstrations the bottom usb-C port died, glad I always bring a spare device (from another supplier) to cover this type of situation. That said, this device was/is really expensive, and I tend to purchase that type of device based on prior experience with cheap products, in any category really, because cheap products usually have cheap parts, and marginal designs which fail early. Now this device did not even last a year of light use (I had not used it in the office to keep it for trade show / conference work), so in spite of paying top dollar for this product, it clearly has at least 1 failed input, and now I can't trust it for anything). Save your money and avoid this product.

Good Expansion High Sleep Power
This is a handy little expansion port. I just wish it would allow me to keep it connected to my MacBook Pro M3 when in sleep mode. I put my laptop in sleep and when I took it out of my bag the next day the battery was completely drained.
