Worked well for my purpose
I recently acquired a Dell MMS 5650 subwoofer+amplifier from a thrift shop. Most of the connections for the speakers are your standard RCA inputs, but the center speaker uses a DB9 connector, presumably because the center speaker also has a volume control knob and power switch built in. I managed to figure out the pinouts for all those features, but I didn't have a DB9 cable on hand to sacrifice for the purpose of building a new controller. This cable fit my purpose great, and the color-coded wiring inside saved me from having to laboriously test and label each pin with its associated wire. I liked that there was a little plastic cap at the end of the cable where the wires protrude; it keeps them neatly bundled together. The cable is shielded and generally feels sturdy. My only complaint is that the screws on either side of the connector aren't very long, and the plastic for turning the screws isn't particularly durable, although at this price point I can hardly complain. All in all, great item for when you really need a cheap DB9 cable.

Good cable
My only complaint is I wish it had a diagram to list out what pins went to what wire. I had to tone them out while I was building the cable, slowed things down a bit.

As advertised
I used this adapter to reprogram/replace a high profile facu, and this cable worked like a champ. Well made, and worth the money.

Good for protyping or testing equipment
The pins were labeled correctly. I'm using cable to verify correct configuration before the process of making a custom cable.

Here's tascam wiring
Just wanted to throw this pic in here of when I wrote out the Tascam wiring... if you're doing XLR cables, you can replace "TRS" with the pin numbers on the XLRs that correspond with hot, cold, and ground, respectively. Cable works great and I used repurposed TRS jacks to run 8 channels out from an Apollo x8p for a patchbay (or surround once I get around to it). If I had to do it again, the time involved makes me think I should just buy one, although it's hard to find them short enough when using a portable rack, and they're more expensive than they should be for what they are. But if you have more time than money, this is such a great solution, and you get a lot of soldering practice. I think the only complaint I have is wishing the wires were just a slightly larger gauge. Another commenter said the diagram was wrong, but I think the only issue with the diagram is they flipped male and female... I think... if you verify one pin and use that for reference, you should find that all the colors match the pins how it shows, although I still used a multimeter to verify.
