Caution!!!!
Quality of photos with these lenses on is ok - however, they are less focused than without one of these filters. But take caution! DO NOT buy these if you do not enjoy spending your time trying to unscrew stuck filters. I’ve had his happen all three times I used the UV filter now, and this last time have tried every possible way you could find online to get it to unscrew with no success. Now, after spending almost two hours trying by myself, I have to go to a camera store to get rid of it. Complete waste of my time, and not worth the cheaper price of the filters and not worth risking damaging your lens either. In my case, I was unable to make good pictures with my camera during my vacation (there was some dust between the filter), and I did end up accidentally damaging my lens while at one point desperately trying to get it loose. Not worth it ever, unless you’re trying to find a gift for a camera lover that you don’t like.

everything but the lens hood is helpful
Everything in this kit is 100% perfect, except for the lens hood. While it attaches well enough there are three problems:1) it causes vignetting at the corners when zoomed all the way out. I've had plenty of lens hoods over the years, none have caused this. There is a considerable amount of space from the front to the back of the lens hood, i suspect to allow it to be very universal and fit nearly every lens of this size. However, when zooming all the way out to utilize your SLR's full range of f/stops, you will get a tunnel effect. which sucks.2) the lens hood doesn't have any way to attach a filter. While this isn't a problem for the "cheap lens insurance" of a UV filter, it causes problems if you want to use a rotating Polarizing filter, or if you need to swap filters quickly, as you'd have to un-thread the hood, install the filter, then screw the hood back on. Had they just made it a bayonet-style attachment, filters could be swapped on the go.3) only the included lens cap fits the lens hood. the stock Canon cap won't...and that's weird.

One item needed and others to experiment with
some things are just not meant to be in my camera case. These gave me a hard time to align when I wanted to change the covers. maybe it is just me - they looked great and Vivitar usually makes great products. This set had the one item I needed and it gave me the option to try things I did not and had not used before. I would purchase it again because of the name brand but I did not need all the extras. I would have preferred to find it as a single lens - but that option cost more than the set. If they were easier to exchange one lens for the other I would have given it a better rating.

Great Value For Money (Great For Beginners Too)
You always think you don't need a protective filter until you drop a lens. I also have lens hoods on all of my lenses for extra protection. That was the one downside (and loss of a star) for the tulip hood in this kit. As many have said before it is of poor design and wasn't very "thought out" when made. Still for the low price you can't really complain too much. In the case of the dropped lens, the UV filter cracked, but the lens itself was intact. It never imaged very well in the first place, so no big loss.I decided to do some tests using the same lens and a few different filters. Depending on your filters and subject your shooting (in terms of lighting), ghosting can be seen. They were virtually eliminated by the Hoya and B&W filters. If anything, the B&W had a slight (very slight) superiority of flare resistance making it better than the Hoya. The Goja were close to the Hoya SHMC, but a little more prone to ghosting. In Gojas' defense however, you do get what you pay for. I have since bought two sets as I gave a set to my son who is very new to photography and will be a nice addition to his D3300 beginners kit.

Good for a cheap set, but with low price comes some limits.
This item was on time and everything fit my dslr perfectly. The only issue is that when you have both the lens filter and the lens hood on at the same time, the lens hood will get into the photo at the lenses widest focal length (anything wider than about 28mm (note: approximately 45mm in "full frame" focal length terms due to the 1.6 crop factor on the APS-C sensor)).I generally have never liked wide angle photography that much anyway due to the barrel distortion you get at those focal lengths so the loss of the use of the widest focal lengths is not a very big deal for me.

Good deal, very low profile
These are very low profile filters, I barely notice the lens length difference. They seem to work okay. I've mostly used the UV haze one, and it doesn't have as effective coating as other filters I've used. I still get a good deal of haze when there's a strong light from the side, but I guess that's what the included hood is for. :) The lens cap is actually really solid, too - I switched to this lens cap and set aside my old one. All in all, this is a solid kit of accessories! The polarizer rotates smoothly and is indeed polarized with a good neutral grey color response. I haven't used the purple filter yet (it takes the excessive green out of old fluorescent tube lights) but I assume it should do what it's meant to do perfectly well.

good Value for money - Sort of
This is an inexpensive set of filters so not bad for the price...However, the filters tend to screw on to tightly i had to break the Uv lens to get it off my camera lens, thankfully i did not damage my lens in this process. I did not screw the filter on too tight, but upon adding the hood on top of the lens, it became far to tight and i was unable to remove, i have not had the same problem with either of the other 2 filters. I have noticed a couple of other reviewers have had a similar problem with the hood so it may be more of a hood issue than a filter issue, but i have not had problems with any of the others. It came in a nice little carry case which was pretty nice qaulity apart from the Uv filter causing me issues the rest of the set has been good, although i dont really notice to much difference with any of my photos with the filters on.I would probably spend a bit of extra money and purchase a better set next time, i would be annoyed if i had of paid more than around $40 for this set.

Good for the money
Nice little package with three 58mm filters, lens cap and flare hood. Designed for a compact camera (Canon G12). I acquired the extender separately. I bought it for one specific use - to attach a polarizing filter and for that it worked perfectly. And it looks sharp too. I have a collection of other cameras with differing filter diameters so the other filters will be useful. There is some vignetting at the widest angle setting because of the length of the separate extender but that's easy to crop out. You can avoid this by shortening the extender but the extended zoom will bump into the filter when zoomed out - best to leave it alone.

Good filters and case, lens hood is not compatible with the rest of the bundle
I bought this set over another brand because this one included a lens hood. It turns out the lens hood won't really work with this set.Really I got this kit for the 3 filters and the carrying case, and I'm very satisfied with those. The filters seem to be well constructed and decent quality for the incredible price. I'm really impressed with the quality of the CPL (circular polarization) filter and I have no idea why a previous reviewer thought it didn't work as everyone else seems to be satisfied with it.However, the bundled lens hood is not appropriate with these lenses, as it doesn't have the front threading for mounting filters (or even the lens cap!). You can mount the lens hood OVER the UV or FLD filters, because they have front threads, but that's inconvenient if you're shooting outdoors with the hood and you want to change or add a filter. The included lens cap can be 'pinched' into the lens hood but because the front of the hood is not threaded, any shift will just pop the lens cap out. The CPL filter does not have front threads (and because it turns you wouldn't want a hood mounted to it) so there is no option for using this CPL filter with the lens hood provided.Overall it's still a great deal but I now need to shop for a new lens hood with front threads.

Quality product as promised!
Items arrived from Florida to Vancouver without incident and two days prior to the tracking date. When I opened up the package I was happy to see that the items were as advertised, and looked to be of great quality. Everything was in their proper boxes, as opposed to being re-wrapped in cheap plastic. I also received a note from the store manager Walter, advising me that if Iwasn't 100% satisfied to email him directly. It's little things like this that will keep me coming back. Great product, great service. Had Ibought these items separately, I would have spent $60+. Extremely happy with my purchase. Thanks!

Vivitar is a reliable provider of camera parts at a good price
This package is more than I needed for my purposes, i.e. to get a protective lens cover for a telephoto lens. However, purchasing these items individually was far more expensive than this great little package. CAUTION: be sure to check the diameter of your lens to be sure 58 mm is the right size for your equipment (look along the rim of lens that is currently on your camera). I'm glad I read that ahead of time and everything fits great!

Very well packed, Clean and new
Liked the professionalism in this supplier. The merchandise was packed well and there were no smudges whatsoever on the filter lenses. There was a personal note from the owner stating if for any reason I were not satisfied with the product, to please email of call him and everything would be rectified including a refund. This person cares about his business and customers and to me; that is the way to run a successful business. I will always shop here first.
