This has been a great grate.
I do a lot of high temp grilling with my Weber grills. This grate has worked great. The sear marks are pretty awesome. The coating stayed perfectly intact for 3 years and now in its 4th year its starting to have a few spots of rust and one small area where the cast iron is beginning to flake. Admittedly, I don't take the best care of it and always hit it hard with a SS steel wire brush to clean it. For the money, I think that's good value and I'll be ordering a new one soon.

Fits Perfectly Over Sear Station on Genesis II
Replaced one of my 9mm SS grates over the sear station with the cast iron Sear Grate and it's worked out very well so far. The price was reasonable for what you get and it gives a perfect cross hatch sear after letting it get to full temperature normally 10m +/-. So far I've really enjoyed the steaks and spatchcock chicken we've made on it. It has also worked really well for asparagus, peppers and other larger vegetables. It's a bit of a pain to clean when using sugar based sauces but if you crank up the heat at the end and make sure burn of the leftovers then let it cool a nylon grill brush get most of it off pretty easy. For the price I think Weber has a winner as long as it holds up to the test of time.*FYI The manual state not to use a wire brush since it could damage the porcelain coating

get that restaurant quality sear
a perfect gift to anyone with a webber genesis II grill.Note if you're using on a 4 burner, there is some "overap" with this grate over the grates you leave in place, but the fit is still perfectly flush and looks just fine, even in the eyes of this self admitted perfectionist.Everyone has always liked my grilling, but just the LOOK of chicken or steaks after a nice sear has gotten more intention than my food has in the past!!"You dont sell the steak, you sell the sizzle" and with this grate, add the visual sizzle that will leave all impressed!

Real Weber grate
Same box, part number, size as when I purchased my original directly from Weber several years ago. My grill is always covered, even so, the original lasted just a few years. It rusted away. Just know you will need to replace after a few years. Unless you follow the directions and remove from the grill after every use and store it till next use, which is unrealistic, you might get longer lifespan.

Perfect fit and holds heat well
This is a perfect fit for my Weber E315 and it holds heat very well. I replaced my original cast iron grates with $150 stainless steel grates for Weber, Home Depot Model #7528. Don't buy those for a Weber E300 Genesis 2 series grill. The fit is off as it seems they are meant for the older 300 series Webers. This didn't affect cooking but it always bothered me and I really should have returned them, but I waited a long time for them to arrive and I needed to cook that day. These sear grates are fantastic and I bought two of them to replace the stainless steel. They hold heat 10 times better and are actually easier to clean. Plus you don't have to fiddle with your steaks to try and get cross hatch grill marks, if you are into that sort of thing.

Works Perfectly... you just need to read the manual
I rarely spend time writing reviews but definitely rely on them. I was reading so many people complain how it did not properly fit the 4 burner model. I almost did not purchase due to this. Well I am glad I did not rely on these reviews and I am glad I can read a manual. Yes, the grate fits perfectly on a 3/6 grill as they are different size grates than the 4. However, Weber is smart enough to know this and the instructions CLEARLY show that on a 4 burner it must be placed on either the left or right position and the top must be in the proper position. If however, you are looking for this to fit in the center grate position it will not properly fit a 4 burner grill. Simply read or look at the picture in the manual, put it in either outside position and it works perfectly with virtually no slip. As indicated by others, it does overlap the middle grate by about 2 inches but, it is designed to do that and the grate has bottom tabs to properly ensure the grate is still perfectly level. Summary, the reason the grate does not properly fit a 4 burner is due to user error. It works great for grilling and I am so glad to have it...you will be too.
